Do your legs stay bent lars? I never could get the ex's legs to straighten, no matter how long I tried stretching the muscles for. alf 's leg doesn't straighten due to contractures. Typically, the only way to straighten them is with surgery, and in most cases surgery is simply unnecessary. I like it, actually. 😉 What exactly causes contractures/lack thereof? I ask because my boyfriend is 13 years post and his legs, arms and even fingers still stretch perfectly fine. Only his toes don't. And he only goes to physio once a week. And if I remember right, @inkdevil's ex wasn't as long post injury.

i'm very flexible, no stiff joints, but my spasms can get crazy without Xanaflex....hands, abdomen, legs, back, everything will contract so damn hard. I hate spasms, however, sometime i use them for things, and when in bed, i try to let them work to change positioning and just get blood moving around. After i spasm hard my heart will beat hard, so i know i got some kind of cardio exercise, albeit, small.
Inky, my left hand is worse than my right, and it doesn't spasm, but my right does. Weird!

My boyfriend has a contradictory thing like that, too. His left hand is a lot stronger and more capable than his right hand since he's left-handed, but he can move his right thumb a bit, whereas he has no noteworthy movement in his left one. His legs straighten, some of his fingers not so well.

On related news, it's been very hectic lately, so I might as well put on a little update as there are some big changes coming. I know, oh so very interesting. I have to admit that earlier on in the spring, I managed to mess up my preparations for the back then upcoming university selection exam. That one's up on me. As a result, I didn't quite get to the big universities into which I wanted to go, but thankfully I was selected into a smaller university nevertheless. Unfortunately, as a result of that, next Wednesday I'm going to move into a forest taken straight from a dark fairytale. The winter is coming, and if I mysteriously disappear, it means that the bears and the wolves got me. However, if everything goes to plan, I'll be eligible for a transfer into a big university after my first year. I'm lucky that I still got in somewhere on my first try, but it sincerely sucks that this move is going to put a serious dent in some sporting hobbies and projects of mine. Frankly, everything depends on if I'm going to be able to find a personal assistant with a car. The penny-stretching, new home city of mine has decided that being able to go do the groceries twice a week is more than enough freedom of movement that a cripple is going to need to survive the winter. It's a bit of a silly situation and it's very much a first world problem. It's not that I need a personal assistant for more than changing the light bulbs and shutting off the fire alarm, but temperatures dropping down to -20C to -30C will pose a problem getting around - especially so since I'm going to live about 5 kilometers away from the city center and about 4 kilometers away from the campus. I can't wait for the exchange programs and doing my Master's degree abroad. On the bright side, this time I'll have my own, private sauna in my apartment! And hey, shit is still moving forwards on schedule.

Yay for moving forward, even if it's not QUITE the original plan (been dealing with a bit of that myself, for a while). Congrats on admission to the university. Send pics of the dark forest and whatever the version of Sasquatch is that lives in your part of the world. And good luck on finding a great PCA.
Temps of -20C to -30C sound like my version of hell on earth.

Woah Lars. I'll join the group devs who comment on your photos since I'm a sucker for nice clothing.
Your next year sounds like a bit of an adventure. I'm guessing you are not a skier; I don't mind cold as long as there are mountains and ski lifts. I'd also love to see some pictures of the 'forest taken straight from a dark fairytale'. Hopefully one day you will look back and realize it was all meant to be.
You need to work on your picture cropping skills.

Hi Lars. Nice pic. I cross my fingers that you will survive the next winter and yes - also that you'll find someone to keep you warm. ;-)

Screwing around in the gym again, for instructional value. This one's about a month old, as I haven't been in such a hurry to upload these. The transfer is pretty easy, but lowering the seat isn't. If I'm alone, I'll place a 20kg weight on the seat and press it down further. Sometimes my legs can get a bit stuck against the frame, and if that happens, the chair might tilt back a bit when grabbing the leg and putting it into its place. No worries, great exercise! This one's a light set.

I got my first day in the university done, and I've got only about 1915 days left to do, give or take a few. Huzzah! It was an interesting experience in itself, and also because I got my move done quite late the previous night. I managed to score an hour of sleep before the school today, and there's an interesting ( and a borderline frightening ) mess to clear because the departments of applied physics and biosciences got merged together in this particular university I'm in. I'm not yet sure if it's hilarious or not if I'd end up as a physicist instead, though it's also a very functional path to specialize in neurotechnology later on. Needless to say, I'm fucking stressed, as before I accepted the invitation to this university I was assured I'm able to do my first year's biology studies while in this campus and in this department. Aaand that's the only reason why I accepted this invitation. It's a completely new thing, thanks to the merger of the departments, and nobody seems to quite know what to do right now. Thankfully I found the right members of the faculty to start to untangle this whole mess, so it's time to write some e-mails now that I got my home internet working. As an added bonus, this is where the wolves and the bears are hiding. And that lake is going to freeze..
