myrrh I am wondering about the mountain too....I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and there are a bunch of volcanos around us...and they are beautiful yet so dangerous, such a combination! :-)

All of the shots I've posted thus far have been things I've captured with my cell phone. I've got a real camera now. I guess...it's not too terrible... Where is Matt Damon in this picture. I cannot see him!

@braced4impact Your photos are absolutely stunning! So, so gorgeous. Thank you for sharing that beauty! I live in Tornado Alley, and I read a post where you had warned of the dangers of storm chasing. On May 31, 2013 in my state, we had a monstrous EF5 tornado that was the widest ever recorded (2.6 miles wide). Tragedy struck when seasoned storm chasers Tim Samaras and his son Paul and their friend, Carl Young, all perished in the tornado. It did something it hardly ever does; it took a sharp 90-degree turn or something like that, and they didn't see it coming until it was too late. They had no time to react. I, myself, remember that day clearly, as we lost an acquaintance as well. So very, very sad. And I have my own story from that night; I was running/driving away from the tornado but those ominous clouds were still clear in the rear view. Not a wise choice; I know better now. There was a tornado right up the highway from me last week; maybe 2-3 miles away? I was able to snap these pics because as scary as tornados can be, they make breath-takingly beautiful skies in shades of amber, onyx, violet, and green. I'm not sure what type of clouds these are, but the billowing effect is pretty, I think, and this was about 3 seconds before it started hailing. I really enjoy your photos!

And being the complete noob that I am, I didn't even notice, and now I'm all worried I've broken some unspoken sub-cultural code by including good ol' Handicap Joe. I will just consider it my own version of a watermark; I mean, hey, look how close I am to that spot - that's not a coincidence!

Wow, those clouds are incredible! They truly look like they are "undulating." I wish I had an eye for all the weather that rolls through here. You've inspired me to take more pictures, and look up at the sky more often!

Amazing how many parts of nature appear over and over again...those Asperatus clouds look like trough cross bedding in some sandstones! Great photos
