Yes! Perfect. And thanks for reminding me about Xiu Xiu. I saw them live pre-covid and it was one of the best shows I had ever seen. Such interesting energy from Jamie Stewart. Also I can't forget this gem of a song.

Also I can't forget this gem of a song. I saw them a few years ago as well and agreed, it was such an interesting and awesome show. We talked with Jamie Stewart a bit after and he was so nice and just seemed genuinely appreciative of his fans

whirr are terrible people and i hate them, but i still regularly come back to this album because it absolutely fucks
light asylum played a show with cold cave a week or two ago and i was extremely sad that i was unable to go. i love both bands but i have wanted to see light asylum really bad since i found out about them in 2016

Back under the Russian post-punk melancholy weighted blanket. why tf are russians so consistently good at post punk? have you ever heard Stadt? I love him. This whole album is great but I love this song in particular. That's why I love Ploho so much, they write about growing up in rot and capture it so perfectly. I'm from the sticks and understand what it's like to be surrounded by people looking at the ground because they're just trying to survive, but not many places can hold a candle to post-Soviet Siberia when it comes to hopelessness. And now here it goes again, a new generation of young men getting thrown into the meat grinder for no reason. I cried the first time I watched this video and really followed what they were saying. They'd been trying to get out of the country for a while and finally made it out and have been holed up in Germany (I think?). They just posted about how hard it was to leave (physically and emotionally) the other day on insta and I was SO glad to hear they seemed to be doing ok. There's an acoustic version of the above song at a show with an audience mostly made of refugees and it's incredible, everyone is singing along. My favorite group liked that post too, which I was very happy to see because they've been pretty (understandably) quiet lately. They posted a "no war" message shortly after the invasion, but it's since been deleted. Группа Хмурый and their best album is Картины, if you get curious. ANYWAY. Fuck yeah Stadt is some good shit, perfect for an undead ghoul rave in the Ural mountains. The last track on the album you posted is my fav these days.

been having a lot of fun lately listening to shit i was really into in high school.
this is the only dave grohl project i've ever liked. every song on this album goes so hard. most of them are with dudes whose bands i really don't like, but here they're all great.

Don't know if anyone likes Jazz but I've been really into this guy lately. He's originally from Beirut and taught himself jazz at 19. It's a great mix of middle eastern sounds and more western freeform jazz and a bit of Spanish influence here and there, like in this song.
