Yes! You should. But you should totally let me do your tats, Triassic. Well, once I'm an official artist, that is. Right now I'm a mere apprentice. If you're ever down in Alabama and in the general vicinity of The Voodoo Needle, I will take great pleasure in sticking you with my hand-made needles. Or you could just get a freaking tattoo at wherever it is you're at. That might make more sense. In fact, yeah, it does. Think you could do a big PARADEVO right across my back? That'd be hot.

Thanks Chan!! That's a great pic.
How long does it take to get one of those tatoos applied? I wonder if the technology has changed, the colors look more vibrant.

Oh man, the colors will only get brighter after the scabbing stops. They'll be a lot more vivid in a week or so.
The ones I got last night took a total of about two and a half hours because of the detail. (You can't really see too much of it because the camera's so far away).
But yes, Creative-E, I will tattoo a HUGE Paradevo across your back for you. It shall be done.

Chan, how much would I expect to pay for tattoos coveroing my entire torso in a design similar to what zupan has on his leg? This would be custom, not from flash, but not intricate, no colors. What would be a fair price for that, roughly, and how many sessions would it take?

What would be a fair price for that, roughly, and how many sessions would it take? Hmm, normally at the shop I never deal with tattoo costs since each artist quotes their own price. Plus, because of Voodoo Needle's location and our surroundings, we're A LOT cheaper than say a shop in New York or Miami. Mainly because probably 70% (I'm exaggerating...a little) of all work we do are rebel flags or sayings like "Bama Boy". Anyway, Triassic. You will most definitely be paying by the hour for what you're getting done, probably a couple hundred an hour. But that's just a rough estimate. And because everything you'd be getting done is custom and will be covering a large portion of your body....you're going to be spending some big bucks, mister. As I say multiple times a day while dealing with customers over the phone, you're just going to have to go in to a place, show them the designs you have in mind, then find out the price that particular artist will quote you. If you're serious about covering your entire torso, this will be a project that will take years and thousands of dollars. But if you're really into the idea and willing to put that much dedication and such into it, go for it. It'll look awesome. Hopefully I somewhat answered your questions in my extensive ramble.

Aww, Lee. You're my buttercup too. Aw, that's what you say now, but if I met you irl, I'd probably be drooling all over you while you rejected my sorry ass.... Earl is really fucking lucky. I'm sure he knows it.

Er...what's AB got to do w/tattoos? *mystified*
Yes, Chan thanks. I figured it might be a couple thousand. But why would it take years? It'd be probably a kind of modified Maori design; lots of thick black swirls.

Your entire torso is a pretty large canvas for something like tattooing. And even if you have the money right there to pay for something, you still have to allow your body time to heal before you can resume tattooing. Though you are looking into the thick bands of black, they will still take loads of time to fill then re-fill to saturate the color. Tattooing is a pretty time-consuming project for something like that, even if it's just tribal/Maori.

Ha! I know. That's why I sent him the article in the first place. But if the whole fucking team is going, the airline had better be prepared.
