Hi, I have just by accident found this site and I’m quite astonished. I’ve been a quad for 29 years, following an SCI sustained in a car crash when I was 17. I have had relationships with women who have been attracted to me because of my personality and good looks, but I’ve never knowingly encountered a woman who was attracted, or turned on, by my being a wheelchair-user.
I have to say I find the whole idea of being with a woman who is aroused by both me as a person and me as a quadriplegic a bit of a turn on myself.
As it happens, I was in a 5 year relationship with a woman until last year, we split up but have remained great friends and she still lives with me and takes care of me. However she is moving out within the next month so I am looking for a woman to live with me and look after me. I have read on this site that there are some women who enjoy, or get aroused by, looking after a quad’s needs and taking care of him, so it makes me wonder if I could get in contact with such a woman from this site.
I live in a beautiful part of England’s south coast, so if a women reading this would like to contact me I would love to hear from you. Send me a PM.

Hi quadguy! Welcome to the board! Good luck with your search. Although I don't think that you found the right place to recrute freelance carers. I have had relationships with women who have been attracted to me because of my personality and good looks, Or at least they said so... Most probably a dev would have said the same. ;D

I don't think that you found the right place to recrute freelance carers. ::) I meant I would like to find a lover, not a carer. This is hardly the sort of site anyone with a brain would use to recruit!!!! My paralysis is below my shoulders not above!

welcome quadguy. glad you found us. i think judit was just trying to be friendly and was giving you the 'lay of the land', so to speak. truthfully, it kind of sounded to me like you might be "recruiting" and she does have a point that many of us know wheelers IRL with whom we do not share our "devness" with. anyway... I have to say I find the whole idea of being with a woman who is aroused by both me as a person and me as a quadriplegic a bit of a turn on myself. in this regard you have definitely hit the nail on the head as to what most of us are about and i hope you find what you're looking for. and that you'll have some fun here along the way. ;D

My paralysis is below my shoulders not above! Really? Who would have thought... ;) You know this kind of answer on some joking tells a lot about your personality. I can see how the hand of that sweet little girl beeing writing to you a PM frozes while reading it, and hits terrified the Delete button... :) Anyway... GOOD LUCK! And chill! Get involved, make yourself interesting and you might find the woman of your dreams. :)

What sorts of things do you need help with, quadguy? The usual things that quads need in every day life: most things are what any AB would do for him/herself, but a quad needs someone else to do them. Dressing, washing/bathing, toiletting, cooking, driving. But as I said earlier. This practical stuff is something I can get from a normal care assistant. I've been a quad for 29 years, I'm used to that. The reason I wrote my post was because I was excited to learn that some women are attracted to quad guys and the way they live. If I can find a woman who is attracted to me as a man, as a character, as a musician, AND as a quad, what could be better? Assuming I'm attracted to her ofcourse. If you are intested in hearing more, please send me a PM or an email.

It always warms my heart when I talk to a guy who loves devs. Not that I've ever met a guy who wasn't, but I'm always a little scared. It seems like women (AB and disabled alike) are the ones who get angry at us.

Yep, Amy, but it seems we get pissed at alot of things that guys don't seem to mind....
Like ESPN being on as background noise all day
or the Beavis and Butthead marathon
or how about falling asleep immediately after sex?

Are you kidding me? Beavis and Butthead are hella funny! "Is this a GODdam?" Hehe. Totally my generation.
As for the sports, I wouldn't mind if there were a few wheelchair sports thrown in.
