ah, that's such a nice country. I spent a few of my summer holidays there ... good memories. I actually have been intrigued by the question if there would be people who would consider blindness as a turn-on, rather than a dealbreaker for years. While I have come accross the consept of devotees before, I never stumbled upon a place where this was also the case with blindness. It was one of the board members who I've met elsewhere, who introduced me. Ok, mistery guy. I'm from Spain, so not the same area in Europe... So how did you learn about us devs? Well, let's thank that other member. And welcome you again!!

Hi there, and thank you for your nice words and interest in the music I like. What kind of music are you interested in? As for the country I live in, aside that it is somewhere in what we'd call western Europe, it is just another of my little mysteries you guys can ponder about , but get to know me better and you might get to know more about it . Welcome to PD! Impressive introduction. I'm sure the blindness devs are very happy now. Your music interests sound cool. And yes, I'm also interested what country your are from in Europe. I like to keep my music interests kind of mysterious

I agree that it's good to have more blind guys, even mysterious ones . Welcome, blindlover, I hope you enjoy it here! The love of a simple cuddle resonates with me. I just started a new part-time job a few weeks ago which has absolutely nothing to do with my devness (I thought!) and all of a sudden there is a customer who works for the local library for blind people and the whole website is evaluated for accessibility. I'm stunned .

Welcome to the board from a fellow European! Is there a chance you will reveal your country of origin at some later point in time or shall it remain a mystery forevermore?

Welcome to the board from a fellow European! Is there a chance you will reveal your country of origin at some later point in time or shall it remain a mystery forevermore? Hey there, thank you for your kind message and your interest. I think that I won't make it public here for now, but are welcome to get to know me a bit if you'd like that, and then I may reveal it on a more personal basis

Hi all, I decided to revive this one because I'm wondering if I would make some of you happy with a picture of ... myself. I was also wondering what kind of pictures you devs, especially those who are interested in blind people , would like to see from a blind guy and why. But maybe I should make another topic for that. A third thing I was wondering in this stream of conciousness, is what the chance is you guys will be able to find out who I am if I'd post a picture. Lastly , if I were to post one, where would I do it? My personal intro here or a separate picture topic which I think exists somewhere on the board as well? Thank you all for the heads up

You should definitely consider posting a picture. People usually just post ordinary pictures of themselves. But there is also the thread by @steve where people post unflattering pictures of themselves, or them making weird faces Whether you post pictures in your intro thread or in one of the photo threads (or at all) is totally up to you. I would just suggest using a 3rd party image hosting website like imagur.com because storage space on PD is limited and that will make it easier on the mods

Speaking as a blindness dev, I always like to see a nice clear photo of the face, like a portrait. But the decision to post a photo or not is completely up to each member. Please don't feel pressured to do so. There is a chance that someone you know will come across it, because of google image search. If you have lots of similar photos of yourself on other sites such as for a job or school, there is also a chance you could be identified. It just depends on your comfort level and privacy concerns.
If you do want to post a photo, you can do it anywhere. In this thread, in a new one, in an existing photo thread. But whatever you decide, I do encourage you to post some kind of avatar picture. It could be a photo of your face, or anything else--a cartoon, drawing, logo, picture of anything, however you want to be identified. It helps establish your identity on the board if people can associate your user name with some image.

Hi all, First of all, thank you for the tips and honest answers regarding pictures and their chances to be linked to my identity. I have decided to post tow ofthem here , , mostly to see if I can actually make this work. I can't promise they will stay here forever though . As for the avatar, I'll have to think of something nice then , maybe something for the weekend. thank you, enjoy and here goes nothing: It was time to take these down so nothing it is indeed, for now

Wow, great photos! Thanks so much for sharing. Feel free to take them down later if you want. Some members only post photos here for a short time, it's totally normal.
If you want to use a photo of yourself as your avatar, the second one is a good choice because it is more close up. Of course you can instead use an avatar that is not a photo of you. My avatar is just a cartoon figure that looks vaguely like me. Other people have pictures of flowers or other images that they like.
