Narrative is the most important element in games for me. I think you may be my polar opposite! I really, really wish I could enjoy more story-heavy games, but they just usually don't hold my attention for some reason. Skipping cutscenes is a bad habit. It's even weirder because I'm a huge film/television fan, so I more than enjoy stories in other forms... just not so much in games. This is weird to me. I get so attached to characters in games, more so than films or TV. No other form of media has made me feel as much as The Last of Us did. Also the recent God of War had me gripped. Saying this, there are only a few examples of games with great writing. We maybe get two or three games a year that really excel from a storytelling perspective, most game stories are pretty cringey.

I'm also enjoying my second playthrough of the Resident Evil 2 remake, though I have to stop every now and then when the spooks get too real. I CANNOT play horror games haha movies are fine but once I’m in control of the person walking in to the room where something is *clearly* going to jump out at me I turn into a little puppy. So really what I’m saying is congrats on even getting though one playthrough

VR really elevates the horror aspect.

I've been shootin' my way through Apex Legends as well.
Last year I devoured God of War and then Spider-Man right after. Spider-Man is probably my favourite superhero type, so I was very excited to learn that the game was actually good and enjoyable.
In general my games lean more towards the Co-Op or multiplayer types, but ever since I got my PS4 specifically for GoW and Spider-man I've been enjoying myself in the single-player genre.

My PS4 power supply died 2 weeks ago and I'm too tight fisted now to get it repaired. In the meantime I recovered my PS2 and I've been playing some old WWE games.
Fun in short bursts, but ultimately repetitive and boring.
Maybe, it's just how I'm feeling right now, but I'm starting to get less and less enjoyment out of gaming. I want to enjoy it, but I struggle.
I think it's because I've unintentionally limited myself to what I play so I need something completely new once I get the PS4 repaired.
A new genre perhaps, though NOT horror, jumpscares are not kind to me. I did enjoy The Last Of Us and though not a horror last year's highlight was Detroit, which was very moving.

I just finished up MLB The Show 18. I'm still working on Everybody's Golf, Kingdom Hearts 3, Mortal Kombat XL, and Soul Calibur 6. How does one finish a baseball game?

Nah man I’m completely with you on this one. I played Red Dead all the way until the end of the main story. It was fantastic. But the online mode is terrible until it’s got enough features to not be terrible. Used to love Assassins Creed but it’s also a bunch of repetitiveness. You find out all the levels are pretty much repeating the same strategies and it bores me. Sports games have become being a rocket scientist to win online. I’m terrible at first person shooters. Spent my whole life gaming from sun up to sun down. Now? I haven’t cut my system on in a month unless it was to log into WWE Network

I keep getting in debt, so I need more practice. I was a big fan of theme Hospital back in the day, and at the moment I think theme Hospital is better. But that might just be sentimental thinking.

I really wish they would explain directional hitting cause it’s not as simple as point your stick up to hit fly balls or left to pull it. I know it has to do with batter vs pitcher attributes but give me SOME tutorial. Zone zone zone zone zone is all they focus on and it’s mandatory in diamond dynasty. But I’m a franchise guy and to get realistic stats you just need directional.
