@delight, I love your post! You are spot on with the dog, cat and parrot (I know those to be true from experience). Your other thoughts in the useful guide are hilarious 🤣!

I can confirm ducks as well. I have 3, one of which is a constant biter. I want a barn owl so big I can ride it! Or, a glider that I can paint owl feathers on. You know what, scratch that. I'll just get the glider instead. Finding a barn owl big enough to ride would take forever.

Sheep : spend their entire lives thinking of new ways to die Love this. A local farmer keeps sheep in a friend's fields, it's quite astounding how often they drop dead for no apparent reason. And who designed an animal that can't get off it's own back if it rolls over? J.

They are so pretty. It would be great if they had baby owls and I could watch them grow up. I have a family of barn swallows in my yard right now, but no owl😢

When I'm free of the shackles of housemates and find an elusive 'pets welcome' tenancy a cat would be my wildcard answer. I'm known for my dislike of cats but I'm convinced a well-trained housecat would be a good companion. Until he revolts and learns his kind was once treated like a God and there's that inevitable power shift.

Was just sat here (oddly) thinking of how, when i was a child, i desperately wanted a pet monkey. I thought it could wear my doll clothes lol. If you could have ANY pet, what would you choose ? A big snake, a cat and another Suomenpystykorva (had several as a child, and other pets, too). But mice are nice, as well.

The problem with goldfish is that they're hard to train and aren't particularly good at returning affection. That's not true! :-D Even the goldfish in our pond (Kois are said to be even smarter and they react great to people, you should give that a try if you don't trust simple goldfish!) learned easily to come as soon as I dipped a finger in the water, they learned to approach from one side only, they learned to let themselves be touched - and some even came back to have themselves "patted" even though they were no longer hungry. They obviously liked it. All you needed was time and patience. *g*

Changed my mind I want a single Guppy in a huge 80 gallon fish tank, and I would name it Frank Ocean.

This was no mishap, a message was being sent.

Yes, I think I'll consider getting a dog instead. You know where you are with Dogs.

Indeed, Dogs are loyal to you as a person, cats are loyal to your opposable thumbs.
