Ya' know, the only reasons the sunsests down there are so good looking, is because they've polluted the sky so badly. If youw ant to see good, natural sunsets...nothing can beat the Connecticut River Valley , screw the desert.

ahh, brother windrider,,,them be fightin words out west...perhaps a meeting in front of the saloon @ high noon,,,(im never high @ noon,,,thats strictly an after dark activity)....how can u possbily believe the air quality (other than here in farmington where we have several oil refineries & coal burning power plants *cough/hack) here could be worse than CT, in the heart of the northeastern megalopolis?...the reason for those spectacular sunsets is purely mother nature's doing,,,,dust in the wind....all it is is dust in the wind.... ;D

my dear absinthe, what u really need is a trip to a different world...a place where the landscape is starkly beautiful...where sunsets & moonrises are so awesome that words cant define them...where u can sit @ the village inn & hear 3 or 4 different languages being spoken,,,and all of the speakers are multi-generation (and even mega-generation) natives of this land...u need a ride in the longest tram in the country...a shopping trip to the oldest governmental building in the USA...visit a casino where the people are obvious native americans....cross the continental divide and become confused cuz the rivers are running backwards..,where the sky is such a bright blue you have to wear sunglasses to look @ it....and where there's a wheelerdude with eyes as intense as the sky...unless they are flashing bright as the endless starcast as seen from the desert on a cold, clear night....yep,,,thats what you need...imho, of course... Damn, i'm starting to feel drawn to you Jeffy...that was a magnetic description!!! lol Maybe if AB doesn't take you up on it...lol Hell, are there any devs that need a beach scene with their quad? lol

The only place where the dust in the wind makes the sunset is in Kansas, my friend, as for a meeting at the saloon...I do live near Smith & Wesson...twin .44s at noon? (What do they have on tap, too...mind you I'm Irish, I don't want any of that dog p*ss that people call 'light beer') CT actually has a budget (it is the richest state) to clean stuff up...but alas my friend, New Mexico is more polluted...I don't know of many Nuclear weapons tests that were done in New England..there's that place called Los Alamos. Not to mention all of the airbases over there....that's a lot of jet fuel burning over there...I mean Groton does that the Naval Warfare Command Center...but those are submarines...they don't give off any emissions so to speak either...but the nature of my competitiveness comes from me living near Smith College, where many of the women like each other...alas, my choice is very limited . Oh yeah, yes, that picture of the sunset is pollution induced (to be completely honest, burning a campfire is more polluting than driving a car lol)
