I'll have to put 'The Souvenier' on my list, Tilda Swinton is in it and she's always a good watch. And Thatcher's England always provides a good backdrop for films, This is England being just one example.
As for films I've watched recently,'Pawn Sacrifice' was good, telling the life story of Chess legend Bobby Fischer with Tobey Maguire in the lead role. It's all too easy to write Maguire off for his polarising tenure as Spiderman, but he's a great actor and was fabulous in this, playing Fischer's paranoid mental state with sensitivity and heart.

Though it's not technically a movie, I've recently started watching the sci-fi show Tales From The Loop on Prime Video. So far, I just watched the first two episodes, and I think I just got my mind blown hahaha!

I'm intrigued Somewhat, though I wouldn't entirely categorize it as such. I should admit, however, it certainly has a Stranger Things vibe to it, to some extent.

I'll see if I can sort Prime out and check it out at some point. I often find that with all this streaming we have too much choice.

I just came across the show Ramy on Hulu. It has a guy with pretty severe CP, played by a guy with severe CP, as a recurring character. The character is kinda funny in a with a non-pc, non-inspiration porn story line (at least so far).

I watched Green Book recently and really liked it!
Now I've started watching "After Life" on Netflix and so far it seems pretty good as well.

Anyone watched the new Movie, The Old Guard, on Netflix?
Was a bit skeptical but gave it a watch today as i needed a good hangover movie. It was a great watch! Action from start to finish and good acting from the entire cast. Interesting story.
4/5 toasters from me Charlize Theron Kicking butt is an automatic win.

It's dumb, but definitely worth a watch. My contribution: Palm Springs. This one is a lot of fun!

Not my usual genre of choice but it was easy to get into and definitely watchable

So I took the leap of faith and bought Bill and Ted: face the music and must say it was a most excellent adventure. Better than I thought it would be for sure. Attachment Deleted

Definitely not the only one, Utahquad. But I refuse to watch the trailer because I want to go in cold. Hype! We had insane wildfire smoke for a week straight, which inspired me to watch Blade Runner and Apocalypse Now. Both are brilliant movies... And now I'm in the mood to revisit The Deer Hunter.

It was fun, mostly because seeing Bill & Ted back on the silver screen was so awesome! I honestly thought a third movie would never happen. Keanu and Alex have talked about doing it for decades. I consider the first two to be an important part of my childhood, so I felt an obligation to shell out the money for this new one. Not that I regret it, but it's not really worth owning. I mean, I'll never watch it again. It was still a nice dose of joy in a tumultuous year.

I cannot recommend Shane Carruth's Upstream Color enough. It's kinda artsy, so don't expect a fast paced film, but the sound design and camera work are outstanding and the story always make me feel like I'm still dreaming.
