Uhh... Hey everyone! So, after lurking around on here for about... don't let me lie, 3-4 years? I finally managed to create an account... Like apparently many of you here I'm probably overly privacy-concerned So, on to telling some stuff about me... At 18 years/19 in a day (and tbh I'm terrified >.<) I'm apparently one of the youngest on here. :") I'm from Germany, and from what I've read many of at least the devos on here are, too! Wondering if devness is more common in some cultures and if so, why. That actually makes for a good transition - hobby-wise I love researching things, especially (patho-)psychology. My passion has been character design though, and that absolutely blossomed in the last two years - so I might well hand you some stories when I get to it, with possibly rather diverse main themes. ; )) On a less board-related note, I enjoy gaming and am considering to get into drawing (which would then probably be having my yet again board-related OCs frequently... hmm, not so unrelated after all). I also have an intense love for music. ^^ (All of those things are sadly currently on a halt though as my mind is basically stuck in vocational training mode, constant exams, work experience abroad, so many things to worry about... ugh) What I probably have to mention at this point is that I overshare a lot. :$ *quietly apologises* I'll just be hoping I didn't annoy anyone too much, that I can strike up a conversation and that I'll be accepted well on here! ":^) Anyways, thanks to whoever read all the way to the end and greetings from Germany to anyone from elsewhere! " Edit: Ugh, bb code smiley weirdness!

Welcome and Happy Birthday! Did your birthday have anything to do with you signing up?

Hey there; happy birthday!~ You're in good company, both as a gamer (of the electronic variety, I'm assuming) and as someone who shares a lot (I do too in general; not so much yet on this forum -- in due course!). What are your favorite game genres and/or franchises?

Welcome along and I hope you find this a good place to be.
I'm not sure if it's possible to overshare on here.

Ah, thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Also, in a day, not today >_< Heh, I'll just read the congratulations again tomorrow I guess :> We'll see whether I'll manage to overshare even on here ;>> So... 1. No, my birthday doesn't have to do with me registering here, it's just a really weird coincidence 2. About the gaming, I've played mostly (mmo-)rpgs, like skyrim, gw2, WoW... I do play games of any other genres now and then though, partly because it's majorly about the storyline for me ^^ And thanks again for the warm welcome :v was quite unexpected. I probably am too insecure, but I think such comes with sneaking around boards like this one. Heh.

Welcome bluefox from a fellow German-speaking, overly privacy-minded dev! I don't think anyone gets annoyed by thoughtful and interesting introductions I also lurked for a very long time and it was a scary step for me to finally sign up and participate - but it has been amazing and I hope it will be for you, too! What kind of vocational training are you doing, if you don't mind sharing? Interesting question you raised about the possibility of devness being more common in some cultures than others - I've wondered about that, too! I think it depends a little on the "nature vs. nurture" question, if there can be a difference between cultures at all. Unfortunately, membership on this board probably can't tell us anything about that, since we're so few and there are so many other factors that go into it (like Internet and language use) But it's yet another interesting dev mystery to ponder! Happy oversharing and of course: Happy Birthday!!

Warmly welcome Bluefox, im a PWD male living in South Germany. Nice to have a a further German fellow in here. My passion is about drawing pictures (mostly nature or animals) when i have time or when im in the mood. Also i like to visit beautiful places in nature to explore. So you have a really interesting hobby by mentioning you are interested in (patho-)psychology and explore/evaluate characters. Maybe you also heard about the MBTI-Types? Im interested in this field a little bit. I love to study the personalities of human beings. Im also one of the rarest ones in the different 16 personality-Types because im an INFJ. It's about 2% of the population who have this specific type. And sometimes i feel myself as an outsider because i have different thinking because of this but i manage to get along with it Have a nice time here on PD and enjoy the community! Kind regards Furby89

Welcome to PD! I'm from Germany as well. If you are from somewhere in the Southwest region, you're in good company. I think until today I'm still the only one from the Eastern part.
I would be interested in which field of study or work you are heading to. If you don't mind sharing :-).
Great that you decided to join! I'm looking forward to reading more about your thoughts :-).

2. About the gaming, I've played mostly (mmo-)rpgs, like skyrim, gw2, WoW... I do play games of any other genres now and then though, partly because it's majorly about the storyline for me ^^ Very cool. I've been playing WoW off and on (currently off, but anything can happen!) since its launch; I have GW2 but haven't touched it in seven or eight years; Skyrim and Oblivion are favorites; I am also hugely into Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, and Dark Souls (bolded because of its infinite replayability and highly addictive challenge; it also has a wonderful story that you have to work to uncover).
My heaviest addiction right now is Hearthstone; I am so not great at it but just cannot put it down.
Maybe we can find something to play together sometime!
