From the eve of the 2018 midterm elections. (I totally forgot I made this!)

Not sure if you were being serious or not, but looks a lot more like a red cattle dog than a dingo

Damnit! Now I'm back on the "I want a dog again" wagon. It's just not practical for a quad living alone in a downtown apartment.

I never know how much faith to put in those DNA tests, especially when you see identical twins given different results. Originally Australian cattle dogs were bred using dingoes to increase their stamina and heat tolerance. I thought that was what you may be referring to. I knew heaps of people with them as a kid, and they certainly did live up to their nickname of red heelers. She sure does look like she may be close to a purebread. Is she a great guard dog?

Oh yah, she's a barker; when the mailman or really anyone is crossing our lawn, Roo roo rooo rooo rooo roo roo rooo~~. We adopted her from a local agency a little over three years ago just after she and her puppies were rescued from the streets of Opelousas, Louisiana. She simply adores humans but hasn't ever done well with other dogs, most likely due to past trauma.

Great thread idea! Here are my furry friends. Max. He will lick your face. You have been warned. He's a 2 year old mini-Aussie. He enjoys Tug-O-War, chasing barn cats, and barking at anything with a motor. Meet Paws. He's not the brightest star, but we love him. His hind legs are missing a ligament (according to the Vet), so he walks sorta like a penguin and sits up like Al Bundy. He also has what you'd call "a bit of a weight problem."

Not even a cat. That would be manageable, but I’m not sure I’d want my kitten to have to stay in their whole life. :/

My mother grew up in Covington; when we were told upon meeting Emma that she was from Opelousas, we all melted -- my mom especially -- and had no choice but to take her home with us.

That’s so cute, Paul! I‘m a dog person, so I would definitely go for Max, but Paws is cute too. I remember that adorable camping pic you posted, where Max was afraid of not being in his private surrounding. So lovable, and very human in a way (which sounds very weird to put it like that. How self-centered we humans tend to be...)
