I definitely think being in your 40âs is a lot better than in your 20âs. It takes age to become confident, independent and not reliant on the approval of others. I definitely plan on being a crazy old lady with a big smile on her face lol

And he still is, robbb . No need to be sorry. He just doesnât look much like Alain Delon anymore... I have to confess to not having heard of Alain Delon so I've just Googled him. What a very handsome young man who became a very distinguished older man. R. No, robbb, I donât believe that! You are a gay man and have never heard of Alain Delon??? The icon of male beauty! You clearly missed out on something here. Good for you that medman came up with the Nice sunny day for coffee thread. ;-)

Yes, but don't forget I'm not a real gay man, hahaha! R. Now thatâs interesting! Why donât you consider yourself a âreal gay manâ? Well actually that's debatable. Some might argue I am the true definition of a gay man. I am a man that is attracted to men, and that is as far as it goes. I don't do the scene, I am not effeminate, I don't mince or swish my hips, I'm not flamboyant or outrageous, I don't know about gay culture or icons. Hell, I don't even have any dress sense! I also don't find effeminate men attractive, I like my men to be men, so am usually only attracted to straight men. So, I don't know, you decide. Am I a real gay man? Someone once suggested I am homosexual but not gay! R.

robbbas for the terms I never really gave it a thought if thereâs a big difference between âgayâ and âhomosexualâ but I guess youâre right that with the term âgayâ goes a lot more into the direction of the classical picture that would come to mind (however thereâs of course a lot of prejudice involved - as far as I can say: all gay men I know are similar to how you described yourself.

I think in reality there is no difference in the words, and the stereotypes that go with them don't apply to me. My personal feeling is that an attraction to men is just that, an attraction. The stereotypes are in my opinion lifestyle choices. R.

Someone once suggested I am homosexual but not gay! R. To me that totally makes sense. And I find it very sympathetic. I think âjust being homosexualâ is maybe the more mature way. Of course, it is up to everyone to decide. I used to have so many gay friends back when I was young. I sometimes found it a bit exhausting that some of them seemed to only identify themselves through their sexuality. I totally get it, now it was important back then in the 90ies, when homosexuality was much less common and accepted. But still. I keep my sexuality very much to myself and I prefer not being bothered by that of other people as well.
