Wisconsin is primarily catholic and years ago the Friday night fish fry (breaded and fried cod with fries) became a lent tradition. I don’t think there’s much religious connection anymore but the Friday fish fry is alive and well! OH NO, YOU DIDNT JUST START THE BREADED VS. BATTER DEBATE Actually, most are beer batter. I prefer breaded, though.

I prefer battered for cod but I will almost always order different fish. Perch, bluegill and walleye is usually breaded in a light, delicate breading or panko. Honestly, blackened is by far my favorite preparation for most fish.

Myrrh that is cool AF you fashioned a calligraphy pen out of a swan feather lol. Do you still do calligraphy? [...] Scones always seem like they're going to be tasty but then you bite into it and it's so dry and dense. Weird thing is sometimes I crave that lol First, yes I am still very much into calligraphy, but haven't had time for it lately. It's an honest bucket list item for me to create a high quality illuminated manuscript page. The technical calligraphy (like shape and consistency of letters_ is important, but the overall page depends pretty heavily on layout, having a good sense of spacing, etc... that's not super in my range yet. Shit's hard, yo. Second... there's a place near here that has gluten-free, soy-free, vegan scones. The primary ingredient seems to be sawdust or some other cellulosic material, combined the absolute minimum binder and/or moisture content so as to assure it will hold together just long enough to make it to the customer. It sounds terrible, but man I just love them.

yeah newjess I could give the entire pantheon of British foodstuffs a big smacking miss. When I lived in the UK I survived entirely on Fish and Chips (Whenever I was forced to eat out) It's quite hard to find a good chippery though. The right ratio of well fried, non oily batter to fresh fish to non soggy, non mealy chips..its a highwire act. Aside from the fact that UK is the land where good food goes to die a horrible death, I love sainsbury's. It's my happy spot, just coming in a close second to French supermarkets. Wisconsin is primarily catholic and years ago the Friday night fish fry (breaded and fried cod with fries) became a lent tradition. I don’t think there’s much religious connection anymore but the Friday fish fry is alive and well! I dated a lady from Wisconsin, she was over here for a year doing studies. She suggested we went to a cinema after we had a coffee and some food. Halfway through watching First Man she starts masturbating. That truly was the most awkward date I've been on. Not the worst, but the most awkward

Just can the entire pantheon of British foodstuffs. Its 2020, borrow from cultures that know what food should taste like and that boiling all vegetables to yellow goophood isn't the right way to cook them. Yep. I don't think anyone ever came to Britain for the food... (to be fair, though, I found the food in New Zealand to be quite similar ) There's this joke I'm sure most people have heard before, but it's very apt: Heaven is where the police are British, the chefs Italian, the mechanics German, the lovers French and it is all organized by the Swiss. Hell is where the police are German, the chefs British, the mechanics French, the lovers Swiss and it is all organized by the Italians.

First Amee, NZ is basically British with much better landscape. They also took British food and made it worse. We have bacon and chocolate chip cookie, yeah you read that right. You did. Second, French lovers are not what they're cracked up to be, take it from me!

Jacinda is a complete bae too! I have yet to find a British dish that isn't just an almost passable meal though. I love spice too much.

I was actually looking into a working visa for NZ... The disability was a bit of a barrier though How so? I can't imagine that being in the law. A work-travel visa is easily obtained by the British and EU residents. People are enormously liberal and inclusive here.

The only jobs available were hotel work, being on my legs all day would have killed me.
