Hey everyone. I'm obviously new here and definitely not shy (*Morgan Freeman voice* but he really was shy).
I'm a straight, cis, 24 year old man living in Milwaukee and I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Other things I have include: a loving partner (we're polyamorous), a bearded dragon, a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, 5/6 of a law degree (I graduate in May), a dark sense of humor, anxiety, existential dread, and a tendency to overshare...😁. I'm also a slut for a good meme.

Welcome! Sounds like we have a lot in common, my dude. I always love seeing other SMAers who are educated and living their best lives.

Hi and a warm welcome from a fellow person, who works in the legal field (I didn't find a better and shorter way to word that )! What area of the law are you planning to go into when you graduate? I hope you'll enjoy your time here!

I find criminal law very fascinating from a theoretical standpoint (philosophically and sociologically), but having done a little bit of work in that area in practice, it's an area I don't want to work in long-term. So, you want to do criminal defense or something else in that area? I've seen a few different areas since I graduated and my heart is definitely in dispute resolution - especially alternative dispute resolution.

If I work at the appellate level I would want to do defense, but if I work at the trial level I want to prosecute. So when you say that you are "a fellow person, who works in the legal field," is that to say that you are a licensed attorney?

Will I be able to respond to your PM if I haven't met the 10 post requirement yet?
