Well said! It sounds like you've got a pretty healthy view of things already. It took me a long time to think of it as "just another preference," but I did land there eventually. Hope you find a community and some new friends here!
I grew up in the sticks on the feral side of Puget Sound, but moved out of state about a decade ago. One day when I'm old, wealthy, retired, and sick of people, I plan to move back to the Olympics... Lots of work to do before then, mostly on that second attribute.

Oohhh, I'm excited...greetings from a German dev living in Washington. I also enjoy politics even though it makes me angry lots of times...oh and liberal is awesome. Not too long ago, I was at Bernie's rally at the Tacoma Dome. Welcome to PD! So glad you found the community and hope to get to know you better as you feel comfortable. I'm excited, WA dev contingent growing...hit me up if you want to know more (you have to have ten posts before you can private message though)

Welcome, most of the wheelboys here are usually gamers some of the devs to apparently. I love how you just compared being into people with glasses to people in wheelchairs. I find that comparison so funny, I'm going to be thinking about that all day.

Welcome, most of the wheelboys here are usually gamers some of the devs to apparently. Do you think that’s really true? There are a few gaming threads on here but it’s not like this place is Reddit.

Not from Washington, but I am a graphic designer. Just freelance at the moment, mainly posters, web design, and print work. Sounds somewhat similar to what you do.

@scout I actually like Helvetica! It almost always works wherever you put it. At least that's my opinion. I really don't like Futura though, it always feels too sharp.

Graphic designers unite! So now I need to know, how do you guys feel about Helvetica? I just graduated last year and have been freelancing as well. Fingers crossed things don’t slow down too much... this newfound openness to remote work will hopefully make finding work easier. There is a great documentary movie about Helvetica from 2007. I watched it when it was free but now you have to rent it on Amazon or iTunes.

Hey there fellow Washington state resident, nice to see someone else not from the west side. What PC games do you play?
