So I read the reviews you mentioned above because I was curious. What is surprising is, that the person claims she has read your other books and likes the other ones but then this one she has a problem with. That strikes me as odd and she should know your genre and your stories already, why is this one a problem for her? Maybe it's a personal issue for her, something that affected her in her life, she mentions Christopher Reeves and how it affected her. Or is it a personal situation between you and this person. You also shouldn't have to explain yourself as to why you wrote what you wrote.
Anyways, if it makes you feel better, I have had my first book out for two months and it has been bought numerous times and it has been read on KU - I have ZERO reviews. I went into this not expecting anything because that way I wouldn't be disappointed.
I did this whole deal without any help, it wasn't easy. A lot of work goes into creating stories, writing, editing, reading over and over, editing over and over and publishing (took me two tries). First and foremost, I wanted to do this for myself because my writing means a lot to me. In addition, I thought it would be a good thing to make it possible for people/devs who like my stuff, to own it because who knows how long the Fiction Blog will be around. I know it isn't perfect but ZERO reviews...
Then again, I have read and heard it often enough that writing is indeed a lonely endeavor and it's definitely true.
I am sure you have hundreds of reviews on all your works, you've published numerous books and unless you plan to give up your daytime job, the question is if you write for reviews or from the heart for yourself and your readers and not worry too much about the reviews and your average, whatever that means. There are obviously lots of people who like your books and leave good reviews.
