Hi! It's been a while since I contributed that much to the forum but well, I am just not that much of a talker sometimes. I know this topic may be different depending on the country you are from but I guess that could be cool to see the different situations everyone went though, but I feel like this quarantine is just never ending! It's been like 4 months already where I am from and it feels eternal!!! Having to deal with online college, away from my apartment (leaving with family in a small town hours away from the big city to avoid big clumps of people) and also taking care of my sick grandma and my mental health is getting over me. I haven't found a online psychologist that works for me and dealing with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) in this circumstance is making me kinda crazy ngl. I hope to hear cool stories from you all and also thanks for the awesome space. It's tough for me to open sometimes but I trying my best.

95% of Australia (except Melbourne) is pretty much back to normal. NZ too I think. The USA will be at least another year if current indications are anything to go by. I think the UK will follow the USA lead and open too early, and be in a world of hurt

On a better note, it looks like my country is trying to do it slowly so that's good I guess. I mean certain parts of the country are free of Corona and are working normally with their borders closed. But yeah dealing with all this stuff makes my anxiety go through the roof!

May I ask which country you’re from, loveparas ? I’m from Germany and in my area we’re pretty much heading back to normal. At least on the surface. All stores are open, some swimming pools just opened (both out- and indoors) of course with special rules all over. We’re still wearing mouth and nose covers in stores and public transport. In my company we’re still not allowed back to the office all together, so half of the people still works from home. We haven’t had any new Corona cases in my area for at least a week I think. However, in Germany there are a few corona-hotspots as they started to call it, these cities or part of the cities went back to lockdown. As happy as we are in our area, we’re afraid of what will happen once fall and winter starts and the temperatures lower again. And, of course many people went out for summer vacation at the German beaches which by now are really crowded. So there’s also the fear of what it will be like when all the people return from their vacation: will they bring back the virus? Will it start all over again? A neighbor said that he heard that our hospitals start preparing for a second wave. We’ll see. I just hope that we won’t run into a second phase.

Well here in the UK other than Lancaster going back into full lockdown the UK is doing alright but really the only way we are going to go back to normal is when we have a cure or a vaccine

The US is a mess. NY is doing ok, but other states are having over a 50% increase in cases after reopening (which is funny to say because they never really closed things down). It’s nice to see other countries flattening the curve, but I’ll admit I’m a little jealous.

Look on the bright side, most states in the US are opening up just in time to celebrate All Countries Matter day on the 4th!

Washington state has "hot spots" but is doing okay. I work in healthcare and actually didn't see a spike in our hospital since we opened up some places again. Masking is mandatory but not enforced by the law. Most people abide. I am glad I live in this state, it's at least somewhat normal thinking and open minded. I mean we got division here too but overall this state is okay to live in. I'm lucky that I have a job. As for Covid, I don't think it will change until there is a vaccine or something. Even with opening up in phases, it makes no sense to me but life has to go back to somewhat normal because the mental state and livelihoods of lots of people is on the bottom. There has definitely been a spike in mental health problems. I feel horrible for all the children who are living in this shit right now. I worry about that a lot. Other than that, I know personally I'm also not doing great, it's not so much about the quarantine or whatever, I mean we are not quarantined anymore in that sense but it's just the entire state of this nation, there has been so much crap happening and I'm not very optimistic atm. This country is very divided and has a lot of problems but I am not going political here. I am sad a lot nowadays and the only thing that keeps me sane is my writing. I'm happy that my gym opened up this past week and when I went this week, it felt so very good for my mind and my body. Everything that people do and need to be socially, mentally and physically stable and be productive citizens has been taken away and it definitely shows. Everyone is on the edge, lots of people are depressed and angry and it is not helping that we are going from one issue into the next. I'm actually not very positive right now.

Look on the bright side, most states in the US are opening up just in time to celebrate All Countries Matter day on the 4th! You’re doing it wrong, it’s America first. My personal life has not changed a whole lot. I still work full time, still regularly go outside for exercise, and still meet with intimate partners and family. As far as going into public (stores) I already was doing that as infrequently as possible, but now I do it with a mask. I do avoid sit down restaurants unless it’s outdoor seating, and even then I almost always do take-out instead. I also don’t go to the office much and try to do things over phone if I can. The main mental load for me has been, besides the obvious political shit (people throwing gasoline on the dumpster fire), my concern about the people who are getting sick and dying, as well as the livelihoods that are being destroyed. People are going to be getting evicted this month, a lot of them. Anybody who couldn’t pay rent may have had a moratorium, but now all those months are owed. It was a moratorium, not a forgiveness. Not all employment is stable, a lot of small businesses and freelancers are now fucked. People who were in between jobs before COVID may also be fucked. Basically, a lot of people are fucked. Also, racism. So tired of all the bullshit. We will be in this for a long time and it’s going to get much worse. Especially as certain people get desperate going into November...

The problem we might have with Covid19 is it might go the same way as the Spanish flu in 1918 with never finding a vaccine for Covid19

You cant compare this. Also the whole world is desperate for it not only for health reasons also for economical.

Well I did say we might never find a vaccine for Covid19 but I do agree with you that we have a better chance of making a working vaccine than the people who had to deal with the Spanish flu over 100 years ago all I was pointing out is it's a real possibility we might never get a working vaccine against Covid19 the only reason why I compare Covid19 to the Spanish flu is because both have one thing in common and that is there could not find the first person who got the virus in the first place and considering Covid19 started in China and how many people live in China finding the first person who got the virus is like looking for a needle in a haystack

As far as going into public (stores) I already was doing that as infrequently as possible, but now I do it with a mask.
I just spray myself in the face with chrome and scream "WITNESS ME!" before strolling into the supermarket.

I am from Argentina and here things are getting a little out of controle. We are mid winter and at least in my town everything is so crazy. I can't even leave my house for more than a few hours to go to the supermarket and stuff. Honestly can't do anything with police checking everywhere. It's been like this for 4 months and still we are getting hella lot of cases. Our government is shit and super corrupt so they hide the numbers a lie.
