Happy Monday, PD tribe,
it is indeed a happy Monday for me.
Honestly, this Covid stuff and this year in general has really gotten to me on various levels and I'm sad a lot of times but it was good for one thing - I have been able to work on/better my writing, learn how to self publish, and learn a lot about writing and editing in general. Writing and music are my medicine. I'm far from perfect but writing for me is also a way to process many emotions.
Well, my second novel "New Beginnings" is out now. It was the first obvious dev romance I wrote 11 years ago when I first discovered this world of devotees and realized I am also a dev and always have been. "New Beginnings" came to be while my husband was deployed with the US Army for a year to Iraq; I was a temporary single mom of two young boys, I struggled with my discoveries, it was a very painful and lonely year. Thousands of thoughts were hand scribbled on paper, sometimes until late into the night and sometimes I cried and felt so alone. So "New Beginnings" was also a new beginning for me personally, leading into the catharsis and transformation of who I am now. 2010 I joined PD and have been here ever since.
So, publishing "New Beginnings" means a lot to me on a whole other level, like things are coming full circle. I would have never in my wildest dreams seen myself where I am now with my writing and with who I am. I am happy to share my writing with you and with publishing make it possible for people who like my stories to own them. I had "New Beginnings" on the Fiction Blog but now it is rewritten, corrected and edited to my best abilities and fine tuned for everyone who wants to read it. I poured a lot of heart and soul into it, once again a story about love, pain, lots of angst but also hope. I used location and events that left a mark on me in real life as well.
So with that, I give you:
www.amazon.com/dp/B08FJ1N51V/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=dani+deveaux&qid=1597083850&sr=8-2
Please enjoy and I would love to get some reviews if you like the story. My first novel "Will Love Prevail" has been out on Amazon for three months now and sadly, I don't have one single review or rating even though people have bought the book and are reading it.
I know it was my first try at publishing and I missed some stuff and eventually plan on correcting that, but I hope the lack of reviews is not due to a bad story. Maybe it's an issue for people to "out" themselves with a review after reading a book that may deal with some controversial content, I know even on the Fiction Blog many readers stay anonymous. You can always message me or follow me on social media though.
Anyways, I will enjoy the remainder of my summer now and start working on my next story soon. It will most likely be "What It Was". I plan on publishing all my Fiction Blog stories. It's what I will leave behind for devs, my way of supporting you.
Hugs
Dani
