A shameless bump to say that as a huge fan of the Hitman franchise, the recent rebrand to Hitman 3 which gifted us with Freelancer mode has been amazing.
The mode forces us to think for ourselves like the Hitman games of old, with the game no longer holding our hand with scripted events in missions designed to create specific situations where we can get to our targets easier.
I've never been too keen on this element anyway so for them to do away with it in this mode has been a breath of fresh air.
Trouble is, I'm so used to playing stealthy that its a little difficult to shake off that playstyle here as we're now encouraged and sometimes have no choice to be a little reckless when it comes to eliminating our targets.
Plus a win is never guaruanteed and one tiny mistake can blow everything. In short, it's trial and error and frustrating, but there in lies the fun.

I've been gaming a lot more recently. I'm ashamed to say I've returned to Genshin Impact; not to say that it's a bad game, but it's a bit of a money sink 😅😅
I've also been playing a lot of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. I've really been enjoying hunting (read being carried) with friends 😋 Plus the new armor sets look great 💕

Got back into Minecraft and I'm always amazed at how immersive it is. I always enjoy making a cozy little world out of blocks. It makes me happy.
Also, slowly getting through Disco Elysium. I don't know why it took me so long to get around to playing it, the story telling is stellar, and, I haven't tested this, but, I think you can have incredibly different outcomes by just doing quests in a certain order, or saying specific things in dialog, or even choosing to try and open a door or not. I love when games make decisions matter this much. The only issue I have is that there is a lot of reading, which can be annoying at times. But thankfully, there is a voice over so if you don't want to read you can just listen.
But anyone who's interested in great stories should definitely play it.

But thankfully, there is a voice over so if you don't want to read you can just listen. But anyone who's interested in great stories should definitely play it. disco elysium is the greatest RPG of all time imo. my only complaint about it is that when they gave it full VO, they replaced Cuno's voice actor and he's not anywhere near as funny or abrasive as the original. original Cuno screams every single line of dialog and its amazing. "THE FUCK DOES CUNO KNOW WHAT A RAKE IS? CUNO'S NOT A GARDENER!" 10/10 dialog. also a really big fan of how relentlessly the game makes fun of you for your politics. when i first played it i was like "hell yeah i get to be a communist, that rules" and then it instantly made fun of me for it, but the funniest part to me is that it shits way harder on you for being a liberal than anything else. communist? "you're stupid and a bad person." fascist? "you're stupid and a bad person." liberal? "you're stupid and a bad person and also you don't believe in anything and that is truly pathetic." it also has the best worldbuilding of any RPG, largely due to how wonderfully thought out the world's political history is. its just a great game. i got sorry cop the first time i played. what kind of cop did you get?

I’m playing Doom: Eternal on Xbox and Age of Empires 4 on computer. Doom is a really difficult game, and I normally hate difficult games, but this one is too fun to piss me off. AoE4 is just a classic RTS game, nothing fancy but tuned very nicely and fun.
I recently finished Resident Evil 7 on Xbox also. I played entirely in total darkness, by myself, with the volume turned up. It seriously scared me so much. Was a bit fucked up afterwards, like maybe shellshocked. Awesome game, will enjoy the sequel Village I am sure!

Anyone playing Hogwarts Legacy? i am. its very good. It's so much better than I thought it would be. It looks great and it has one of the best atmospheres of any games I've played in a while.
