Going by the subject title has anyone seen the new movie Tenet?
Just wondering what people thought of it and if they understood the movie at all. I thought it was brilliant but was left scratching my head more than once. Saw it once. It’s a good movie however I didn’t quite understand it. I think I’d need to rewatch it once or twice to be able to put my thoughts into questions at least ;-) |

I can't bring myself to watch yet another time travel movie that makes no sense. 🙃

I've been looking forward to this one for ages, but I can't help but have my expectations muted by everything I've been hearing about it. I'm still not ready to venture out to the movie theater yet though. The way movie releases are going now, I'm sure it'll be available soon in my living room.

My main other criticism was that there wasn't much storytelling or character development. Nolan likes to put you in a world and let you TRY to figure out what's going on. I do love him as a director because he creates visually stunning technically impressive films, but the way he handles sci-fi is at least questionable. If anything, I would say that he expects too much of his audience. |

I see the DVD release date is December 15, but don't know yet when it might be available for streaming. I sort of liked Inception and Interstellar and other Nolan movies (starting with Memento), and I like Charlie Kaufmanmovies (Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Synecdoche New York) where I have a very tenuous grasp of what is happening. Kaufman's new one, "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" is one I definitely need to watch again. Of course, I like watching these while under the effects of some medical 420 so that doesn't help, LOL. Or maybe it does. |
