The state of Illinois allows me the option to hire my own PA rather than go with agency. During covid-19, I'm having hell of a time finding someone after my last PA had to quit. Right now oh, I'm using family members as PAs. But I'd like to take the burden off them if I can. I'm curious if anyone has any ideas of resources or websites I can go to find someone.

Hi Ackrin, I am a C5 quad and also from the Midwest, USA. I have had pretty good luck hiring and retaining good/reliable (the most important) PCA's on my own. I still have an agency available for emergencies, but I typically have about three PCA's at a time to split up my personal care on weekdays and weekends. A lot of your success in hiring your own PCA's will depend on the area in which you live, as well. Send me a PM and I can fill you in on what has and has not worked for me to locate and hire PCA's.
