Ahem... ‘Twas the week before Christmas and the devs all desired A new tawdry romance, devy-inspired And I on my laptop went clickity-click Typing a new story, so witty and slick When what to their wondering eyes did appear? A new story by yours truly, before the end of the year. A story with braces, diapers, and limps A story to be enjoyed by devs or by gimps With the right touch of humor and whimsy and style But enough naughty bits to be sated a while Before you settle in for your long winter nap Give this a spin, you’ll enjoy your fap Now dash away, dash away, dash away with haste Click the link below, or copy and paste Get yourself a copy, it’ll make you feel right Happy reading to you all, and to all a good night.
Okay, now that I got that out of my system, I published a new devy book. For those who aren't fans of my more kink-heavy books, this one is much more vanilla, sweet, and peppered with humor and heart. That's not to say there isn't naughtiness, there's tons of it, it's just more traditional and not B and D and S and M like.

Also: Oh the weather outside is frightful But dev romance is delightful And since you need a new book Take a look, take a look, take a look.

How long does it take you to write these books? I only ask because it’s like you can do them in a month, is that about right?

Well, this one was about 25 pages in MS word or about 16,700 words. I have a day job and other obligations, so I don't write every day. I started this book on 22nd of November and published 18th December, so yeah roughly a month or so. But it can vary.

Oh, for those who prefer paperbacks over Kindle, or perhaps you just don't have one of those devices, I've released the paperback here: www.amazon.com/dp/B09NRJT3Q4

I'm curious...all of my devy fiction centers around my disability and things I know personally on how it affects me. Would PWDs and devs feel okay if I wrote about other disabilities besides my own, or would that be disingenuous? I would try to do my best on researching the disability to get it right, if I went that route, and I also do have experience first hand having gone to several schools with classmates of varying disabilities. So, I wouldn't be a total noob at it. Plus, having my disability, I can at least lend my perspective on some general perceptions people have of disabilities, etc. If this is something that the vast majority here would say I shouldn't do, I'll just stick to my own lane, but if you like my writing style and would be curious to see me venture into other disabilities, I could give it a try. I probably would stick to at least "similar" disabilities, like SCI, CP, MD, etc rather than something I know nothing about like blindness, deafness, or amputee related. While I can walk with a limp, I did spend several months in a wheelchair at school when my foot was badly injured, so I also have some experience with that perspective. Anyway, just throwing the idea out here to test the waters. I can crank out more stories related to my disability, but part of writing is expanding one's perspective and growing.

I'm curious, if anyone here has read the story so far, would you mind giving it a quick review on Amazon? Even the shortest review helps, and I thank you in advance. <3

Yes I would like to read other stories about disabilities. How about a disabled woman, might make it a bit more interesting. I have been listening to the story Me Before You. I know that everybody has put their opinion on the film, but I wanted to listen to the actual words. It’s really good, and the narrators put real feeling into the words and the story. Plus I wanted to understand the emotional actions. Anyway I hope it all goes well, Pete

I think PWD guys are more receptive to the idea.

That makes sense. Women tend to be desired just by virtue of their gender. Whether that's traditional societal norms at play or biological, it doesn't matter. They generally don't need any "help" to be pursued.
Now, obviously this isn't always the case, but almost every heterosexual woman with a disability I know in a relationship (particularly with AB men) are with more alpha types.
For men with disabilities, I think it's definitely harder to be seen as protectors, being able to provide safety and security; so the dynamic is reversed. If their disability is part of the attraction... that's a bonus that women generally don't need or want but that can make a man feel very good.
Is this the case for everyone? No. But it's true much of the time.

I mean most of us dev writers are writing outside of our lived experience... I haven't read your dev stories yet! I'm so behind. I'll have to check them out

I have not seen the movie because the book made me angry enough. I think the most telling thing is that Will has a point-of-view chapter before he is injured and never another one in the whole book. After he is injured we never get his perspective again. (Even his mother has a random point-of-view chapter for no reason).
