I agree with you, if we could have more people thinking and including the disabled folks in inventing new stuff, but rarely do they incorporate them. As for the devs working publicly for the disabled, I doubt, cause many hide their attraction and hence the topic of disability is ignored largely. IDK, maybe the companies should instead hire more and more disabled folks, then only we can progress overall in the society.
Like in the hearing aid industry, many employees are hearing,- not deaf, hard of hearing, CODA, or even having those kind of relatives. So how do we expect them to understand the issues we face daily without experiencing it firsthand itself. I have personally seen with my own eyes, they are largely ignorant about certain issues we come across in daily life. And another thing is that they expect us to conform to their ideals of a perfect hearing, which is impossible inspite of the tremendous leap in the technology. Ultimately, they have to accept that we lack hearing and hence cannot be perfect all the time while speaking or talking in certain situations.
I completely understand that especially seeing with my mother losing her hearing from disabilities. All the technology in the world and used for what? To take better pictures with your phone, stupid stupid. Or, when I started using Dragon natural speaking software to control my computer, it was awesome. I mean it was really looking like they cared and eventually I'd be able to do anything. Then, as new software came out, it went from helping people who need to help to helping people with money who were too lazy to type out a sentence and would rather speak it. Now, it's gone nowhere and it's pitiful and sad.
These days the technology is being used and misused for such inane and silly stuff that I feel, the world has become sillier day by day. Being obsessed with the celebrity culture, insane luxury levels, vulgar fashion, molecular gastronomy etc.... I mean what are doing with our lives, trolling people and being trolled these days is the norm. There is very little substance or productive and constructive activity happening now. The good old days were when life was much simpler, agreed there was not much money, lesser luxury, technology was not very advanced and many other things. But I feel the people overall were much happier than now, if you see our parents and grandparents childhood days.

I am one of the less than 6% of Americans that hunt. It’s not exactly the easiest thing in the world for a quadriplegic but I have got it figured out. Wild game is healthy and delicious!

Wild game is healthy and delicious! that statistic always surprises me when I first see it. I know mathematically it makes sense with where most the population is but yeah. As you can tell by my name, I'm in Minnesota, and so many people hunt/fish it's crazy

I have a genetic mutation that prevents me from getting dehydrated so I don't get hangovers.

My DNA doesn’t line up like everybody else’s , (6 and 8 are partially exchanged) no known side effects. (Besides one hell of a job procreating)

Everybody has 23 dna pairs (half mom, half dads), number 6 and number 8 are partially switched, no problem, since they are balanced. But procreating, that means giving either the balanced pair or the regular pair. Combinations end up in miscarriage (besides the regular occurrence of miscarriage). So any pregnancy had a 50/50 chance of miscarriage besides the regular risks. So less than 50% viability. Was a challenger, ended up with two kids, so I am fine.
