What's better than a book you can't put down? A book with the lead character who is drool-worthy and disabled. Here is the start of my list
1. Heart Broken by Annie Arcane 2. Heart of Hers by Annie Arcane 3. Heart of His by Annie Arcane 4. Heart of Mine by Annie Arcane 5. Irons and Works by EM Linsey (nine book series featuring a variety of disablities) 6. Cross Country Chaos by Leslie Richardson
Just to name a few of my favorite. Also, never forget other authors such as Avery Kingston, Dani D, and Annabell Costa. Those are who got me into this discussion board.
Let me hear what you think. Add to the list

Annie Arcane was also a member here, going by hartmannwrites. No surprise that devs write the best fiction!

I really love reading them, but I'm terrible at writing a great steamy love scene.

EM Lindsey can’t write a book unless at least three of the characters are d/Deaf and one of them only has one arm with which to sign and is dating a paraplegic guy with Crohn’s disease. Do I read them? Oh, hell yes.
They are coming out with new editions that have new artwork. The Sam and Niko ones, particularly the cover… 😍 Sam is sitting in a chair THAT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE A CHAIR THAT ACTUAL PARAS WOULD USE, and Niko is straddling him. YUMMMMM.

This literally had me laughing out loud because it is so true and I fall for the trap (trope?) every single time.

To be fair, they seem to do their research (to my eyes, at least). And that extends to a lot of the social ramifications and less-obvious difficulties, too. Sam’s a young, active para who still has major damage from a pressure sore gone wrong; he also has trouble convincing the state that he is suited for custody of the niece he’s already caring for and has to go back to some sort of para living skills class he took 20 years ago to prove his worth; Hudson and Peyton create/use sex toys created for people missing certain functions and body parts; the Deaf characters have people staring at them all the time and run into frustrations with wonky technology/hearie people who don’t get them.
Of course, there’s also the “this is a small town where every single business is owned by hawt inter-abled gay couples who picked up conversational ASL in under a year just cuz” factor, but I’ll allow it.

There is some susppension of reality when it comes to reading the I&W series. There is lots of reality, but like it was pointed out, the couples who need to , learn things really fast. I thought I read the whole series, but I have to ask: Who is Peyton/Hudson? I haven't met them yet. I had taken a break to read Will Trent stories from Karen Slaughter. He's dyslexic, a different type of disability from the ones featured in I&W.
I thik I had many a nights going to sleep dreaming of Cole from Annie Arcane. Dreamy...
Good night!
