I’m actually from Utah but have been living in Mexico for over a decade now. Just curious if there’s any other paraplegic’s living in Mexico? Or any devotees living in Mexico. Have to put that out there too. Hehe

I don't live in Mexico, but I'm curious what you think of accessibility/life in general there as a paraplegic. Welcome aboard!

I’m an athlete so I have always been very able and willing to meet any accessibility issues. Mexico is not a very friendly place when it comes to accessibility, although I do manage. I’ve been here 12 years now. I guess one of the hardest parts is the cobblestone streets in some places.

Welcome to PD! I'm curious as to why you moved to Mexico from Utah. It’s a long story, but it basically has a lot to do with what I do for work now. So to make a long story short. I broke my back snowboarding 19 years ago. Two or three years after that, I started taking pain pills, which, at some point I wanted to stop, but had became addicted to them. It’s a lot of what we do when trying to manage our pain. I did this amazing psychedelic from Africa, Called Ibogaine. It helps people detox from opiates and substance abuse. I was just detoxing from the pills my doctor gave me, but it absolutely changed my life. That was 12 years ago, in that moment, I decided to move to Mexico. Where I came into this same line of work myself. I am now, the owner of a retreat center and am a psychedelic facilitator/ integrationist. It’s interesting I’m actually starting a platform that is dedicated to providing these kind of experiences for other people with spinal cord injury/wheelchair users.
