I’m pretty new to the whole dev community as a whole, so I apologize if this has been asked and answered before. I am a dev, a gay dev, who spent many years not wanting to acknowledge my attraction to disabled guys. Everyone here that I’ve spoken to so far has been incredibly welcoming, and you all have my thanks for that. I was also way pleasantly surprised at how many disabled guys there are in these forums, since I always thought you’d be freaked out or creeped out by us devs. I guess that’s at least a part of why I waited so long to explore this facet of my sexuality. At any rate, this isn’t a confessional, and I do have a question about terminology. There’s a wonderful(?) spectrum to the guys here, and I don’t really know what the preferred terms are when speaking to them/you—depending on who answers this post Disabled, paralyzed, para, quad, cripple, etc., is there a better/worse term, in peoples’ opinions or experience? For disabilities more biological or congenital in nature, such as spina bifida or SMA, is it a condition? Disease? Something else? Thanks if you guys and devs have any input. It’s not that I think people would be offended necessarily, but being new to these parts, if there’s a term that’s favored by the community, I’d rather learn early than discover later.
