Back after 10 years away. Being a so called, devotee is pretty much the core of who I am or what guides me but what that has meant has changed over the years as I integrated or accepted the attraction and as I have worked on myself psychologically and my attachment style and issues.
Back in the day (my early 20’s when I found paradevi and “came out “ in the way a devotee does) I was a quadriplegic devotee (of all types) through and through, but following dating and they marrying my ex husband who I met here and spent 10 years with. I have found my attraction to have transformed pretty radically and these days in my late 30’s, my attraction includes anyone who may fit into a framework of having a disability in terms of the social construct of disability, so including anyone who may be divergent from the norm and/ or marginalized by circumstances.
I think looking back my attraction was always also about my own identity and wanting to identify with disability. It is was also a turn-on for me to fantasize about disabled partners but I found once I was married, my fantasies shifted to being about myself with a a disability.
it was affirming for something for me identity wise to be in a union with my ex and things shifted then and then following my own life circumstances and having my own experiences of marginalization due to mental health issues (and over the years expanding my understanding of identity and disability as a social construct) my own identity has fallen into line with disability and I have less a need for a partner to be specifically disabled though, as always it’s always a trait and quirk I have much interest and appreciation for.
I haven’t felt the need for community for some time and don’t know how much I’m needing it now but have been thinking more of gender and identity lately and has brought up some interesting stuff

Welcome back! Over the years, my need for community has changed too. I’ve left this place and come back a couple times.
