I've only been able to watch the first four minutes as I got so excited that I had to go take a break ... I don't want to watch it straight through, I want to slowly savor the goodness.
But Christian would've been hotter.

Care to post a link about what happened on Nip/Tuck? My boss mentioned today that "Nip/Tuck was bizarre last night", but as usual, I didn't see it.

the sex scene at the start of this clip was the peak of the devness, although the previews for the upcoming eps suggest there is more to come ;D. You can watch the whole episode on youtube if you want more. The gist of what's happening on the show: one of the main characters was stabbed in the last episode, which aired February 200. Now we find out he is in a wheelchair but expected to regain his mobility down the line. Here's a blog post about the episode. I couldn't find a detailed recap.

I have been a huge fan of Nip/Tuck for years. I am already a regular visitor to various N/T internet forums and sites, but since this dev-development on Tuesday, I explored more, out of curiousity to hear what people were saying. I was surprised at the high number of mentions of the wheelchair sex. Many different things happened in this episode, and the chair sex certainly wasn't the overall focus. But so many people seem to be talking about it! They are commenting on how great the sex scene was. In the episode itself, it was made explicit that one hot young medical student was attracted to Sean in his chair. Later, Sean takes home a waitress and they have a mega sex scene. Afterward, she proclaims "That was the most amazing sex I've ever had ... oh yeah, doing it in the chair like that, now I'm addicted." Furthermore, and I hope I'm not spoiling things for anyone, there was a hint that Sean is faking his condition ... there are multiple motivations for him to do this, but a few people have suggested he's doing it to get laid. My point is: as I dev I have often felt alone and weird, like the rest of you ladies. I consider myself to be in a VERY small minority of people. I think that much of the public never conceives of disability and sexuality together. Then suddenl I see lots of people on the internet talking about how chair sex is "the best", and I see a televised acknowledgement of the fact that some people do find this hot. What's going on here? Am I missing sarcasm? I don't know. In the previous episode, for example, there was sex between an AB guy and a female double amputee. That episode also featured incest, amnesia, psychotic attacker, etc., and with the amputee sex thrown in, the reaction was "oh, they're pulling every ludicrous soap opera cliche." The reaction to this newest development feels different. so if it's publicly (if not widely) acknowledged that, as one blogger put it, "Chicks Dig Scars…and Wheelchairs", why are we the only ones here? why do we feel so ashamed much of the time? one thing I do realize is that, this being tv, they skipped the messy stuff, the character had complete sexual function, etc. So when the waitress declared that it was the best sex she ever had, and people comment on how hot it was, they're talking about a depiction of sex that is very different from what would have happened in real life with a real para. so maybe the discrepancy between us and them has something to do with that -- people out there might abstractly think this is hot, but what they're imagining is basically sex with an AB guy who happens to be sitting in a wheelchair. Faced with reality, they might take back that declaration of "oh that's so sexy." am I making any sense? discuss!

I must live in a hole. I had never even heard of this show until this week, although I don't watch a lot of TV. I watched a few You Tube clips. Quite nice. I do wonder if this will "bring out the dev" in some women... or at least bring them out of the closet. I am sure there are many more women who are devs but they don't know the name or that there are others that feel the same. It took this site for me to put a name to my feelings. It also makes me wonder if those of us on this site are the "most" dev .... or would the proper word be "deviest"? Lol.... We searched and sought out not only this site, but others I am sure. We chose to spend some of our free time fueling our dev tendencies. It will be interesting to see if the conversations about the episode and the wheelchair sex continues or dies down.

hey Faith, I would agree that we may just be the deviest. also the most willing to confront our feelings and discuss them honestly (if only on an internet forum that we can keep distinct from our real lives).

'Most Devoted', is probably a simple enough term if you wanted to quantify Devotees in terms of magnitude.

"Most Devoted" may be proper, but I think "Deviest" is awesome, lol.

Well, lucky me, I was watching part three and just as I clicked on part 4, they pulled down ALL of them due to "copyright infringement", including your little clip above.

thanks for the heads up on that one, scarlett! i think some women, particularly ones who are more on the adventurous side, might find sex with a guy in a wheelchair interesting just because it's different. it may appeal to women who like to be dominant, and it probably also appeals to people who have broad-scope 'medical' fetishes. who knows, it also may be the next "taboo" thing to receive more acceptance now that homosexuality has been pretty much mainstreamed. but we are definitely different (as devs) because it's a lifelong desire/interest, one that is our ideal vs. something different to consider/try. as much as acceptance of people with disabilities as sexual beings may be coming to the forefront of the collective consciousness, we are still coming at it from a different angle. disability is our "ideal". i'm not sure that will ever be properly understood by the general public. one thing I do realize is that, this being tv, they skipped the messy stuff, the character had complete sexual function, etc. Faced with reality, they might take back that declaration of "oh that's so sexy." am I making any sense? good point. another big difference. hey, did he not get up and walk to the bathroom at the end of the episode??
