so i just saw my ortho doctor. we had some x-ray's and i have a 35 degree bend in my spine just below my hardware at L2. i don't know how the disc isn't blown out. this explains all the pain i've been having. so the fix is to fuse me from T2 down to S1 and then anchor my hips to my spine to correct the horrible pelvic obliquity i have.
so i'm going to be ROBOCRIPPLE...but on the plus side these stage III pressure sore will start to clear up.
i was just wondering if anyone on here has had this much fusion. none of my wheeler friends have so just wanted some input.

well...i'm not SCI myself, i do have a good bit of spinal curvature tho'. i dunno; that sounds like an awful lot of fusion to have done-especially locking up the hips. won't that put you in a permanent sitting position, no way to stretch out? i just wonder if there might be bracing or some less radical solution. do you trust this doc?

yeah i trust the doc. i'll be able to bend at the hips, which is where i do most of my bending now anyways. i don't think i'll be able to twist much, though again i can't do much now. i will be able to lay flat and my legs will be completely free.
to clear it up the pins will come off the spine into the pelvis. so i miss spoke...i just can't stand the pain, falling over constantly and the pressure sores will not heal cuz my IT on the left side is almost 3" lower than my right
