I've always defended the right of people on this board to speak freely and not be censored at all. This is something that is really important to me. I want members of the board to be able to share their fantasies, no matter how dark, and not be told to get the hell out, you freak.
However, we are all adults here and it is expected that we should all treat each other with a modicum of respect. We can't have free speech if people are afraid of being publicly attacked. If one person on the board is repeatedly harassing another person with troll-like behavior, please let me know and the member will be deleted. If they return after this action is taken, then the IP address will be blocked.
I consider myself a very fair person and I'm not going to take this action unless the member's behavior is really egregious. I really really don't want to block anyone, but I'll do it if it's the only way to keep the peace.
I hope that Eric and Devogirl support me on this. (I also want to thank them for being great co-moderators.)

OK I get this same thing with my fibromyalgia ALL the time (I'm sure AB can relate to this), I say my back really hurts or I'm super tired and people are all yeah me to... WTF? Well, I suppose it must be bad if you're telling everyone you're "disabled" for a living. I find this kind of thing to be obnoxious. So what do we do with someone like Tweed who enjoys going into other peoples' sites and post their info unsolicited? Where do the moderators need to draw the line? What constitutes egregious?

Yes, that is egregious and the person has already been banned. I fully support Lee on this. But also remember that the main thing trolls are looking for is a reaction. I was really pleased to see that in the original thread this came from that it was completely ignored--that's really the best response.
If someone is harassing you, please let the moderators know in a PM and we will take care of it. Don't fan the flames by replying to the harasser or reposting the messages.

I agree with this, I advocated for this type of mild moderation long ago. Ironically, the conduct I was complaining about had taken over the board at the time and was far worse than what was posted above, which I had not even bothered to pay attention to.
But anyway, better late than never.

Ironically, the conduct I was complaining about had taken over the board at the time and was far worse than what was posted above, which I had not even bothered to pay attention to. But anyway, better late than never. I know exactly what you're talking about. I think it's time for some cleanup. IP addresses should be obtained from Lee and noted for future reference, and then the flame-only posts deleted. Moderators? Oh for heaven's sake, I am not going to get involved in this nonsense. People will only be booted from the board for threatening or illegal behavior. As for childish name-calling and taunting, I'm sorry, but you are all going to have to deal with it like grown-ups. I'm not your mommy. If the posts disturb you, you have two options: 1. Don't read those threads 2. Don't respond to the posts If you ignore them, the trolls will go away. Problem solved
