Thanks for the heads up, Matisse! I'm usually on top of these things but this one passed me by, now I will have to be sure to catch it, if only because I'm a big fan of Battlestar Galactica.
However, there are some bad signs.
1. It was originally supposed to be a pilot for a new series, but Fox is only showing it as a one-off movie. Probably they are hedging their bets to see if it somehow becomes a sleeper hit without any effort on their part. Weak.
2. The wheeler dude looks like a minor character, and I don't think he's very attractive. IMHO. Maybe some of the ladies here are into the big 1970s porn star mustache. And what's up with the high water pants and sandals? Did the wardrobe people get freaked out by the chair?
3. The plot seems to involve some sort of virtual reality (sounds like the Holodeck on Star Trek). How much do you want to bet he uses it to pretend he can walk? Regardless if you would do that too, in terms of scriptwriting, that's just lazy.
But who knows, it could be enjoyable anyway. If it has space ships and lasers, I'm there, ha ha.

I cant think of too many disabled folk in that action role or being given a lead role in anything unless its somehow about thier lives in some way i.e. rain man Daphne from heroes was pretty good character until she snuffed it but again more of secondary character. Come to think of it DARTH VADER was disabled so I guess he would have to get my vote for best disabled character in a film .
