Maybe this will cheer you up a bit-
A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel plans. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email. Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:
To: My loving wife
Subject: I've arrived Date: May 9th, 2005
I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here
now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones.
I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then.
Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.
P.S. sure is freaking hot down here!!!!!

Sorry to all who have lost someone that they care about. I hate it when people die.... I lost my grandma 15yrs ago, We lived far away at the time so I didn't go to the funeral. No one close to me has died since(well I guess that's not true if u were to count my dogs) but I tend to worry....or think about it more then I should. I look at some of u who've have lost and suffered and yet those people seem to be more at peace with the idea of death then I ever have. Heaven hell god the afterlife, I believe it's all 50/50 and if god exists he won't care about the fluff of the Bible or the necessity of Sunday prayer. all he'll care about is the goodness within your soul. I also believe in the possibility reincarnation, so the expression u only live once doesn't make sense to me And no..... I don't believe a human being can com back as a turtle! lol At this point some of u maybe asking why death bothers me so much being that my beliefs on the subject appear to be mainly positive. My answer to u would be I have know idea, maybe it's the #26 on the life challenge list that is to blame. maybe it's just human nature I donno I just hope when my number draws near that I'll have found peace on the subject. That or BAM! a shot to the back of the head when I'm not even looking lol.

I think death still bothers us because it's the end of what we know. We can have beliefs about the afterlife that are positive but we can't touch them like you can a table or a chair, so it makes them less solid. We can't even put "proof" behind them like science. So it leaves it kinda unknown. So death is moving off into something that we know... but don't REALLY know. Which is scary. I'm always nervous when I'm going somewhere or doing something for the first time. With death that feeling is exaggerated because there's no coming back. And it's the separation from all that you love. There are a lot of people that death bothers. It still sometimes bothers me. My peace with it is spotty. And would likely be shot if I were facing death. Right now, I'm in a place where I fear the method of death more than death itself. I'd like to go easy... there are so many really awful ways to die. As far as "you only live once" ... you've only got limited time in THIS lifetime to experience what you want. So you'd better get to it. You don't know what will happen in the others and most people don't remember that anyway. So, for all practical purposes, "you only live once."
