I dunno about the best, but when I was little I really liked that movie Mac and Me with the little kid in the wheelchair and the alien thing. Not sure what my favourite is now. Actually, can't think of many now.

I'd either have to go with The Best Years of our Lives or Crash.

Has anyone ever seen the old Marlon Brando movie "The Men"? It is incredible... it's about men with SCIs following WW2. I was surprised to find that Joe Friday was very hot as a para.
Also, "Saved!" is very good, although too much else is going on.

Saved is my favorite right now. Amazingly Family Guy on DVD will do it for me too.

And how about Jude Law in Gattaca? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Oh thumbs up, definitely. Of course, Jude Law on his own is thumbs up. Jude Law... mmmmm. I actually read Crash. What a strange book. I got no devo thrill out of it at all. It was far too raw and more interested in the car the disabled chick was driving, and likening it to a vagina (if I'm remembering correctly), than it was with the disability itself. I should probably see the movie, which is likely to have a slightly different perspective. Actually I've been meaning to go back and read that book again. I got the impression that Ballard used the word 'stylized' on the equivalent of every page... always wanted to check that.

If you can put your hand on a movie called PRIMO BABY, its not bad. Its borderline cheesy but the story line is good. About the acceptation of differences. The man owns a big ranch and he wants to get rid of a horse that was genetically selected by his son (a para following a car accident in which the man's wife was killed). The man can't accept his son's disability and his son is pretty bitter about it.

How about the "Bone collector"?

Dunno, "Bone Collector" didn't do it for me. Usually I really like Denzel. I guess I didn't like the fact that he was lying in a bed through the whole movie.

I've been thinking hard this night about this subject, but I couldn't find any movie that would give me a thrill. As a kid my favourit cartoon was Heidi in the Austrian TV, of course, I've been waiting for the appearance of Klara, but that's it... There's a Hungarian trilogy, where there's a wc guy (sometimes "brother", sometimes friend, sometimes boyfriend of the main caracter), but the story isn't just about him, and I think the films are available only in Hungarian... Actually I'm rather the reading type. I have some favourite books, one is only available in Hungarian (they made a film of it, but isn't as good as the book - diary of a young guy who became disabled), the other is a Russian novel with a DBK pilot as the main caracter. And of course I saw - and loved - Gattaca, downloaded via P2P from someone, and I have some Dark Angel episodes the same way, but that's it... I don't know the other films you mentioned. I guess we are not big in importing this kind of movies... And as long as I have Internet only in the office, I cannot download anything interesting. You, people, are my only source of "culture".
