Thanks, Ruth, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking... I've recently lost faith in my sixth sense (found out ex was cheating on me... ugh!) but something wasn't adding up!
Thank you for conformation that I'm not, in fact, crazy. Or at least, crazy about this.

have you ever considered that on the mainstream sites we're the crazies?
We are. Any one of us go on there then half the time (in the case of true devs) we do so under false pretenses. I gave up after my first time on the military site because it just wasn't me. If I meet a guy I want to be myself with him.
I refuse to lie and never have on this board. I'll persevere with my guy because I want to and I think he deserves it. This site gets shit loads of weirdoes and time wasters but they all get sent packing very quickly

Or does that sound more like a wannabe/pretender trying to get in some quick fun? yes. And it's been my experience that the paras (who I know for sure ARE paras) are really not that comfortable describing "devy" scenes like that, even if I asked (which I wouldn't!!!). i agree. and most really wouldn't know how to in a way that captures what we'd like to hear. i suspect those who do so are usually pretenders doing it for the purpose of their own gratification.

I wish there were a way to put my preferences in a regular dating site without immediately sounding crazy. That's why I hope to meet someone in person. To have the chance to flirt and get to know each other and for him to already feel comfortable with me before I tell him.

Yes... It's so much easier on here, not having to worry about the "to tell or not to tell" question. I don't think I'd be comfortable in a relationship with my dev "secret" between us, but then, it's easy for me to say that because I've never been put in that position. That "crazy" stigma we get sometimes is why I'm afraid to venture outside of PD... for the time being at least!
Thank you, Dolly!!

I've never kept it secret from anyone I've dated, even able-bodied guys. I don't want to start any relationship on lies. I am not likely to say it on a first date, but when things are getting serious and it looks like we might try to do a relationship, then I tell. I've never been rejected because of it... shrug. (Rejected for other things, of course!)
