From Amazon: About the Author Don't worry, though - the overall plot isn't overshadowed by disabled characters, and each one is different and reacts differently to his or her "Physical Inconvenience". As a physically inconvenienced individual, Eileen believes it's time for readers to see her and others with disabilities as the real people they are through her careful crafting of these characters in her books. A whole bunch of "physically inconvenienced" characters, but each one a unique and beautiful snowflake? My God, it's a literary revelation, enough to leave one's panties positively doused. The phrase "physically inconvenienced," for me, calls up evocative images of tourists hogging the left side of the Metro escalator. No offense, gals, but I don't think I'd read one of her books if I were lost in space and out of cereal boxes.

hi guys!.... i just find a book: roller coaster ride by Eileen Register ....and i just want to know if anybody read this one ...I don't understand how that is a dev book, I looked it up. Am I missing something in the description? Nothing in the description, but I found this in one of the reviews: "Along comes Daniel Crawford her first love and former football hero who was injured badly leaving him wheelchair bound." 21lakis34, what is your opinion of the book? Apparently you are the only one who read it.

WOW that Amazon page is a whole lotta crazy. Not just the author bio which is silly for all the reasons AA mentioned. And because she uses the bio to promote how great the book is. Some random lady in her hometown said so! It must be true!
The book description summarizes way way too much of the plot, and the precious child's name changes from DJ to CJ. Ugh, precious children are the WORST. One of my most hated romance novel cliches. And whoops, he sees his mom having sex! Ok, 3-4 year old child accidentally seeing mommy and daddy going at it = normal childhood experience, especially if the parents don't freak out. 9 year old boy seeing his mother naked with a stranger who just showed up and realizing in that moment it's his father who his mother never told him about = a lifetime of therapy.
The reviews are even more hilarious. They don't even pretend they're not friends of the author. The first one basically says "I only read a little bit of this because I was too busy reading Atlas Shrugged, but I'm going to go ahead and give it 5 stars based on those first few pages." And seriously, declaring your love of Ayn Rand is a waving red flag, but anyway. The next one is even better: "Great writing except for the dialog." That's like saying "You look great except for your face."
So no, I will not be reading this book either. But I do recommend checking out the Amazon page.

I love that comment so much, devogirl! ♥ I had checked the book out on goodreads and was also highly surprised about the amount of info given in the book description, certainly not the way to go about it! *g*

Oh geez, "wheelchair bound"...unless he's actually bound to his chair, like with bondage tape (now there's a book I'd read...), I think I'll go back to "physically inconvenienced."

I've read it, but I actually had to go back and refresh my memory what it was all about. The story is full of cliches, but it does have a degree of suspense that worked quite well, but overall - meh. The son she never bothered to tell him about, he's a low-level incomplete para who many years post-injury (can't remember how many but at least 5) experiences major improvements in his mobility; smells too much of miracle cure. Worst of all, the book contained loads of edits (deletions and insertions) like if someone turned off the markup in a word document and forgot it was there before publishing - at least in the version of the book that I bought.

The author is a dev and used to be a member here under the name Tabby. She also posted a lot on the story blog under the name Alice Gibson. A while ago she deleted her account and took down all her stories, but didn't say why.
Also if it's familiar, it's probably because you saw a sample chapter in Harvard Hottie. Tabby ended up publishing on her own so she decided to change the title and pen name.

I was thinking the same thing, but I thought I was crazy. Is it the one where she goes to live with him and is his caregiver?

Thanks for these links Anne, I haven't seen any of these ones and do love a good 'imperfect' hero romance.
