Hey, this is me... I am 23, gay, a dev, from NYC, has BIID and I am lonely as hell looking for love. I am a chair user and I am this way after much suffering and isolation from my BIID. Now I am a chair user, and while I feel much better about myself physically... in fact while I still have feeling; I can no longer stand or walk. Now I need a bf, and after much searching and no matter apparently how good I feel about myself, no one wants to date the gay guy in the chair... so with that said, if any guy here is in the nearby area and is not put off that I am in a chair because of BIID, I would love to chat with you. My YIM is magicstarwolf. I will supply photos upon request.

Hi there, welcome and good luck I got a few questions for you if you don't mind me asking. I'm trying to understand and I hope you don't mind explaining. In fact, I think that posting more will get you more in contact with board members From your previous posts I though you were a gay dev. When did you realize you had BIID? Now I am a chair user, and while I feel much better about myself physically... in fact while I still have feeling; I can no longer stand or walk. How did that happen? Do you have a disability and BIID to start with?

I always had BIID. I was honestly terrified to come forward with this knowing how many wheelers are sensitive on the subject area. I always felt I should have never walked from as long as I can remember. I knew of BIID since I was 9 thanks to the Internet but never admitted to myself that this was me until it lead to a mental meltdown last summer. I came a long way with this, and I received a lot of support, but I am still lonely, very few people found me attractive and dateable before and now that I am a wheeler it seems to be that much harder. I really just want to have a loving relationship where the guy loves and respects me for who I am and how I see myself. I was really banking on a gay dev to sweep me off my feet, but apparently there are no gay devs or wheelers near NYC who are interested or possibly even existent.

Thank you for trying to answer my questions. I can see similarities in the process of coming to terms with being a dev or a person with BIID. While I'm not a pro in internet dating, I'd say that lying is never a good option to start with, especially not on the internet. Sorry, but being needy is not a good idea either. I think many gay devs and wheelers have made a connection through the board. Some just put their emails out there and 'zooooom', seem to be gone to gay/dev wonderland. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think it's gonna be hard if you limit yourself to a city. I don't know how many gay devs are out there, but I think there are very few of them.

Hi, I've just read your posting and I hope that you might still be interested in "meeting" someone. Although I don't live in NYC or even in the U.S. (I am Canadian), I am a gay dev. I am open-minded and therefore I am interested in BIID, another gay dev, wheelchair user and whatever else you might be interested in sharing. Feel free to reach out to me. Who knows what will happen?!!
