So my name got passed around along with my phone number to a salesman for Icon Wheelchairs. He ended up e-mailing me their website. I checked it out and it looks like a pretty good chair because of it's adjust-ability and it looks good too. If I hadn't already ordered a new chair about 10 months ago, that arrived at the VA recently and is waiting for me to pick it up, I would have probably really looked into getting this chair. I figured some guys in here might be interested in this for a future chair you might want to get and I'm guessing some devs would probably enjoy looking at it as well. www.iconwheelchairs.com/photos

Interesting. Does the fact that it seems to only have that center post do anything for its portability/disassembly? It reminds me of my desk chair, which never quite stays the way I want it... Is that post strong enough for constant daily use? (I mean, it must be, but I've never seen a design like that.)

It looks rather weak in its construction. I guess it would be fine if you never left the pavement. I just don't think it was meant to be used harshly everyday.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that, I abuse my chair way more on pavement compared to anything else. My problems with the chair is that it doesn't look like it would fit that well in my passenger seat when I take it apart and put it in my car. I do really like the adaptability on it though.

Those front wheels are pathetic & I doubt it would take much to catch them on the smallest obstacle.I wouldnt pay good money for it.Dislike the slanted wheels too.

Yeah, the front wheels look breakable.

The maximum front wheels are only 5 inches & I have been thrown out of a chair with them before(& nearly more than a few times).I wouldnt go for anything other than 7 inch wheels.Ideal for most terrain.

7" front wheels?! Do you use one of those all terrain chairs? Here's an example of the type I'm thinking of: www.sportaid.com/terra-trek-outlook-all-terrain-wheelchair.htmlOnce I met a guy who used one of these on a regular basis (well the entire time on a ski trip) but I have never seen anyone else with large front wheels. It seems that its not the diameter of the wheels but how firm or soft they are and if they have any type of shock absorption. I don't know your disability Roger maybe that explain the 7" wheels.
