Dee, I think marine amp was saying a friend of his (who's a quad) posted the story, not that he knows the guy. That was my understanding, anyway.

great story
Good for him, definitely has his fellow servicemen in mind by helping out vets that sometimes get screwed by the VA.

ximena read it correctly, I don't know the guy, but was shown the story by a friend of mine.
As far as him doing work in the field, it would be very minimal if anything at all. He's never going to go on ship, unless it's parked at the dock. He won't be in any combat zone, they tend to be very unfriendly to wheelchair accessibility. Bottom line you need to be ambulatory to deploy. I know a few amputees that have deployed, but definitely not anyone in a chair. He's not the first para or disabled person to work in the military, but nobody comes into the military with any of those disabilities.
Typically the guys getting screwed by the VA are the guys where they don't have an obvious injury, they might not have the most efficient system at all times, but neither is very many medical systems out there. Like it taking about 14 months to get my new wheelchair from the time I contacted to the VA saying I needed a new one until the time it finally showed up at the VA for me to go pick it up.
Sorry Dee Dee, but no I don't have his number, nor would I ever hand out a number of someone I did know to a stranger over the internet, particularly someone that could be his mom.

I deleted my posts as it felt too strange to be taken for a cougar stranger I do not know why you think I could be his mother. FYI I am roughly the same age as your wife.

Just for the record I never said cougar. I think there are other qualifications for that besides being older. What is "roughly the same age?" because she thinks you're closer to 40. Regardless, don't feel too bad I recently was giving Tony and Ray some grief for acting like dirty old men. I also consider everyone on here a stranger to some degree, I've only met one person from paradevo in person, and I still would put him in that same category, but maybe not to the degree I would put others.
