Also, isn't massage proven to improve circulation and extremity swelling? Both known issues in paraplegics/quadriplegics?

without training you wouldn't want to massage too deeply on areas with no sensation and atrophy, but massage can be awesome for circulation and general muscle health in paralyzed areas just like in sensate parts. in fact, it's even more important. professional massage can help to reduce adhesion in the muscles and connective tissue that develop from lack of movement and can help to reduce muscle spasms and edema/swelling. also, i get the feeling they were both enjoying it! that video was hot.  i totally assumed they were fresh from the shower, too.  |
