I noticed it was gone a little while back. I emailed Jane Wheeler but haven't gotten a response. I miss her, Eleanor and their fiction.
I am aware that there are those here who don't, :-) but I really do. I had at least a little friendship with Jane and I miss her, too.

I do not know that particular website, but I do miss Jane Wheeler´s contributions to this board and have no idea where she went or why.

Yes, it's unfortunate what happened with Jane. One of our talented contributors, Rose, posted a story that Jane felt was plagiarized from her own work. Instead of emailing me privately to point this out, Eleanor and Jane decided to publicly air their grievances and attack Rose on the comments of her story. She essentially wanted me to declare her right, remove the story, and ban Rose.
There may have been some elements that were similar between the beginning of the two stories. As someone who only read janes story once, over a year earlier, there was no way that I could've noticed this. Rose graciously removed her story to end the debate, but Jane decided to "punish" me for not responding to her more quickly by removing all her work from the site.
I think we have an amazing group of authors contributing to the site now. I prefer this group to somebody who is going to create drama and compromise our enjoyment of other stories.

dear lee,
i remember now that i read about it, too, but missed the connection to the website via jane. it's a very unfortunate thing altogether, what happened here as well as the site disappearing. we'll see what happens in the future. thanks very much for the reply!

Oh that's too bad. I guess I'll have to take it out of my newsletter. I recommend it every month as a place for getting reviews of disability themed fiction

Last i saw it hadn't been updated for a while. I think it was a huge project to take on and there are tones and tones of dev books coming onto the market and it is hard to keep up with it all. Hope they are still writing though and that we will see their stories somewhere.

The silver lining there is that yeah, there are a lot of dev books on the market now! So different from when I was a kid struggling to find anything!

There's a lot of books out there that I think are not...well...great. But once you find one on Amazon and start looking through the also boughts you can dive down a pretty long chain of books with disabled characters!

I have her on good reads... but I miss the site... it was my happy place of a library of possibly not too bad historical fiction with added injuries and all the good stuff!

Checked out their book list from the above link and they have a few I haven't seen before. I wonder where they went and if they will come back to the world wide web.
