I've found these videos on YouTube and I immediately thought in those ladies here which are into SCI and/or amp guys! First, a Brazilian Dance Contest: Now, another dance show: Enjoy!

'Tis the season for Nutcracker, which I went to a few years ago. I admit having a liking for Clara. I do watch ballet, but haven gone to one in a while. I also, in healthier years, used to attend an improvisational group dance near my college in Vermont. It was great, but I am not fit for that anymore.

I used to love to go out dancing... but I'm no longer into the all night, heavy drinking, clubbing stuff... and unfortunately that's pretty much all there is around here. Well, there's country... so yeah. Nothing. Now, I just dance around whenever I hear music that moves me. The other day I was totally blissing out during a slow morning at work... kinda forgot I was AT WORK. Customer walked in... he thought it was great. LOL The second he left, music was turned back up... and dancing commenced again...

In my early 20s, I was a male backup dancer for drag queens. No, I've never dressed as a lady, so don't ask.

Forgive my ignorance but what is a backup dancer?
Is it similar to the two gals which were by side of Beyonce in the "Single Ladies" video clip??

Yes, but I look awful in a unitard, there's moose knuckle everywhere. Thank you for this. I've been sleeping too soundly lately, anyway.

These are awesome! I love dance, I've danced all my life. But I've been slightly disappointed with a lot of the dance companies that have dancers with disabilities. Or rather, disappointed in the dancers themselves.
A lot of the dancers who have disabilities that I've seen practicing in real life do not seem to take their part in dance companies very seriously and don't put in the same amount of effort as other dancers.
That being said, this can be applied to many male dancers(there is a shortage, and they tend to start later in life which you can see in their slacking technique).
Now, those videos you posted are awesome because they are people who seem to care about dancing and just dance regardless of their ability. The dancer I'm talking about, and what I've seen in other places is this terrible onslaught of art where they put disability on display as a prop, as if it's supposed to have some deeper meaning, and they don't care about the person dancing, and it seems like the person doesn't care about themselves either. I don't have a theory as to why this might be, maybe they see it as a hobby and they got a lucky break by showing off how they can move and still get paid, but whatever it is, I'm going to need a little more than just "I'm in a wheelchair and look at how they choreographed a dance around me and my chair"
Dance is great, Dance is fun and it doesn't matter if you can't move your body, but I think you should move whatever you can when you dance.

I'm ashamed to say, I have danced in my chair. A lot of spinning and wheelies. This display required quite a few drinks in me.

Question, If these performances want us to focus on the 'art of dancing' - why do they dress so skimpy? Seriously, it took me a few minutes to realise it was a 'dance'! Even then i wasn't much focused on the dancing! Yep, it just hit me that i may have a problem
