Hello all!!
I'm new here and just wanted to say hi. I've been lingering around your community for quite some time debating whether or not I could join this board and finally decided to take the plunge. I originally stumbled across the fiction stories completely by accident while searching for adaptive devices. I actually am missing my arm below the elbow and while I KNOW that this website is not for females with disabilities, when reading the stories, I realize that I might have some dev feelings. Before reading your website, I'd never heard of the term before but have much enjoyed the stories and reading your discussions. Hope you guys don't mind me joining your group as I work through all the new feelings I have after discovering this website.

I thought all new members needed to specify a gender and dev or disabled classification on their profile......no? I'm confused are you a female amputee who feels like you may be a dev?

Welcome! But as with Emma, I'm a little confused. A female amputee being a dev isn't clicking. Care to expand?
Anyway, hope you enjoy it here. A very warm bunch here.

Welcome! If you are a dev of disabled men, there's no reason why you shouldn't be allowed here. Maybe you're just now discovering your devness? I heard many devs become fully aware of it only in their twenties or thirties.

I think I've fixed it. When registering, I sent the specifics in...didn't realize I had to select the profile part in addition. My bad!!

Welcome! I'm actually very curious (and I hope you won't mind me asking) about how these dev feelings started developing. For me all started in early childhood and I'd like to hear the point of view of someone who discovered this part of them much later in life. Also, another curiosity: do you feel more attracted to a disability similar to yours or completely different? If you think I'm asking too much stuff too soon, please tell me!

I didn't know I was a dev until I was 17, so I don't think you can assume anything purley based on age. What do you mean with "assume"? Assuming is the opposite of asking. I don't know how it is to develop dev feelings as a teen or an adult, therefore I'm asking for more infos. But I might have misanderstood you, english is not my first language after all...

I'm intrigued as to why it's not "clicking" .... For arguments sake your ab and also a dev (for whatever devness it is), you then have an amputation or acquire a disability, does this mean you can no longer be a dev? Psychologically your needs are the same, physically your body may have changed but you still are the "person" you were born ie a dev As I explained above, I fully understand. But I was half asleep at the initial time of reading. Apologies for any confusion.

Sorry mate, I'm easily confused myself, particularly on a Monday when I'm getting my brain back in gear for work Ha, tell me about it, Mondays are the worst. Especially when a large man smelling of sweat and shit squashes you against the train window, not noticing my retching and a fellow passenger holding his nose as a sign to move on. Anyway, hope our new girl is enjoying herself. Apologies for derailing the thread.

Sorry LaMara, I was also posting half asleep I think...I don't actually remember what I was trying to say apart from I was a late starter compared to many devs who remember having dev feelings since childhood. I never had any of that. Totally understand I find it very interesting dev feelings can pop up at different ages; and in this specific case, I'd like to know what came first, the dev feelings or the disability... but I don't want to scare secrets9 away with my curiosity

Hey secrets9, welcome to PD and I think it is perfectly fine for you to be here. I see nothing wrong with being a disabled female who is also a dev, hope you enjoy being here.
