Emma : I value your insight and your experience a lot. You can't control people. It's the internet. I'm glad you feel so strongly about what you believe the board should be like but it gets very uncomfortable when you repeatedly respond to threads in a very short manner expressing your dissatisfaction. I think it's hurting the community. It is hurting feelings and making people not want to stay in this community. But I think the general nature of the what this board provides is a resource. A resource of knowledge and conversation. Bonding and friendship. Maybe you should just pm him in private if you feel so strongly about the way he created this thread and the way he interacts with the board. When your personal agenda becomes one that is repetitively berating members on the board and halting threads with your ideals, I think you need to reconsider. Is that what you really want to spend your time discussing?

My wife has been wanting to do an Alaskan cruise. Typical girl thing...
I have looked into it and luckily they appear to be among the most accessible. But I have to admit I am just a bit scared. If there is a problem with the room I can't just head to the airport and leave.
And I need good internet, that has gotten better it seems, but I cannot be untethered.

Emma, I understand what you are saying. I didn't see any of your other threads. I'm simply reading what you said about keeping threads so that they ''relate to devotees sexual attraction to physically disabled men''. ANY non-biased, intelligent person that read your post on young kids and power wheelchairs...then saw your less than amicable response...coupled with your very bold statement...that totally contradicts your thread... would also be shaking their head. I'm not downplaying your contributions to PD. In fact you were paramount in my dev education. It just seems to me that there is a real nasty vibe on PD right now... I have 0 interest in 95% of the threads...and honestly... am reluctant to post anything because of the police and trolls...who are just chomping at the bit to make someone look stupid or inconsiderate. If things were like they are now when I first poked my head into PD... I would have ben long gone. I'm not trying to add to the tension that is rampant.... I'm trying to ease it by getting people to tone it down a bit...that's all. Inigo, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I have much respect for you. I'd simply like PD to be a more peaceful place...and yes, I remember when 95% of the threads were worth reading...and even contributing t... I understand the frustration...I simply think that the aggressive, frequently rude approach is ineffective. Sure it was Emma in this case...but she isn't alone...devs and pwd's alike are jumping on the bandwagon. I'd rather just ignore most of the posts than feel all the tension and whining here.

I took a cruise from Galveston to Montego Bay Jamaica, Grand Caymans and Cozumel Mexico. The boats are very accessible but i noticed there was a high threshold on some of the doors to enter some of secluded decks on the boat. Montego Bay and Cozumel was fairly accessible but i have a manual chair and im able to load up into any taxi so im not sure how transportation would be if you are in a power chair. Grand Caymans was a little tricky because the boat anchors off the coast and you have to take a small boat to shore. Once again being in a manual chair made it easy because the guys on the boat just picked me up in my chair and put me on the tender boat. Not sure how that would work with a power chair. Once youre at your destination people are very helpful and if you need some extra help im sure $20 will handle just about anything you need help with. Beaches are bitches when it comes to chairs but thats a given but i know some of the all inclusive resorts have beach chairs. The biggest upside to being in a chair and taking a cruise is you dont wait in line and if you see a line just go right to the front. I personally think cruises are perfect for disabled people but you will still want to pack for all situations. Tires, pumps, tubes, caths, lube, gloves and anything else that might fuck your day up.
