Firstly let me say if you read the subject of this thread and your first thought was "getting to know all about you." Thumbs up.
Secondly and the actual point of this post - I have been apart of this great community for a year now give or take maybe even more so, what can I say I am not the greatest with time. Anyway my point is despite me being around on and off again from PD I haven't really found it easy to get to know everyone and that is definitely my fault. So I thought I would post a few questions which you can answer, ignore, have a nosey, basically do whatever with and maybe ask some yourselves. I don't really have a plan for the thread, just trying something new and trying a little harder to get to know you all.
Q- Winter or Summer? A- For me it's probably Winter I love the Christmas period and with my chair being completely black it can be a little bit to hot.
Q- One thing you wish you could do but for one reason or another can't? A- I love food so for me it's I wish I could cook.
Q- What are your hobbies? A- I am a gamer, mostly PC, I enjoy watching professional wrestling, love tv and movies and I also do some digital art.
Q- Tattoos yes or no? A- For me it's a yes as I have a fair few.
Q- Where are you from and where would you like to visit? A- I was born in the south of England and lived there until I was around 10 before living in Scotland, I would love to visit the USA and Japan.
I will leave it at 5 questions just now and see how the thread takes might add more later and obviously ask a few yourselves if interested.

summer, I love to be outside during summer. my body doesn't handle the cold well.
one thing I wish I could still do is swim. it used to be one of my favorite things to do.
I'm a gamer also, console for me. ps4 and switch. I also started a garden this summer and I've been enjoying doing that quite a bit.
no tattoos for me. just not into them.
I live in nor cal. one place I've always wanted to visit is Hawaii. I plan on going sometime in the next few yrs.

I love all the seasons for their differences but if I have to choose... winter. I love being on the beach or in the country on a stormy day or tucked up in front of the fire watching rain run down the window or snow falling outside.
I think I'm very lucky that anything I want to do I can. There are things I want to do but haven't only because I haven't gotten round to them.
Not sure if it counts as a hobby but spending time with friends, especially eating out at great pubs and restaurants, days out or weekends away. I'm also a bit of a home maker and gardener and spending a lot of time doing up the 170 year old house and garden that I bought last year.
Tattoos: for me no, but I can see the beauty of a great piece of art inked onto a nice body/arm/leg.
I'm a true Brit, born in Newcastle, brought up in Scotland, lived in the South East for 30 years. The job I've done for 30 years means I spend two or three nights a week in destinations all over the world which is great but there really is nowhere I want to be other than at home.

Summer for the win. Like many of my kind, my body doesn't do as well when it's cold. Heat keeps my muscles more relaxed. Plus, everyone wears less clothing in the summer and I think that most of us appreciate that for many reasons I'd love to travel by myself for a long period of time in a very minimalist way. Collecting old stuff - ancient coins, Chicago World's Fair items, vintage movie theater items. Reading books and listening to audiobooks, often with a slight sci-fi or psuedo-science theme. Manipulating with Photoshop & editing video. No tatts for me, but I find heavily tattooed pinup style women very attractive! Really good looking tattoos are rare, which is why I don't have any. I wasn't born here, but I've lived most of my life in Colorado. I'd love to skip from small village to small village in France for a couple weeks, or a lifetime depending on how much I like it!

I love stuff like this thanks for posting. And yes the song has been stuck in my head all day now lol. Q- Winter or Summer? 100% summer. No question. Much prefer to be warm and I love the beach, sun, everything in bloom, etc. Q- One thing you wish you could do but for one reason or another can't? Kinda boring but honestly just wish I had a "normal" energy level again. Autoimmune issues have left me very fatigued so even things like getting enough energy to go to the grocery store can be a struggle. Q- What are your hobbies? I'm a big animal lover... Quite enjoy spending time with my pup, watching animal vids, etc. On that note, I love memes (in general and of the animal variety). Music, movies, and shows of course. I enjoy singing and playing ukulele. I also love to travel. Q- Tattoos yes or no? Yes love them I have a few and just got a new one on my upper arm a week ago Q- Where are you from and where would you like to visit? I am from the US, have lived in several places but I definitely "grew up" in CO. I lived there from age 9 to 22. Sooo many places I want to visit but probably top of the list is India. I'm half Indian and have never been (we didn't really have the money when I was younger). Now it's something I can make happen so I just have to put it in motion.

Q- Winter or Summer? - Summer. I HATE the cold. It's painful, like my bones ache.
Q- One thing you wish you could do but for one reason or another can't? - I wish I could sing and play an instrument. I LOVE music so much, but I don't have much of a singing voice at all.
Q- What are your hobbies? - Reading, writing, fitness, woodworking, artwork.
Q- Tattoos yes or no? - ABSOLUTELY yes. LOVE them. Have several.
Q- Where are you from and where would you like to visit? - From the US (Southwest originally). I want to visit EVERYWHERE. I have a huge bucket list of places I still want to go, too many to mention.

1. Summer, it's just a happier, more managable time for so many reasons. There is a reason why the words 'winter' and 'discontent' fit together so nicely in that famous statement. 2. I wish that I wouldn't get so easily wound up, aggressive or agitated. Even though I'm on Zoloft (which helps a little) I just hate this constant compulsion I have to lash out. It's not healthy or endearing. On the same note, I also wish I could reach out to people a little easier and not be so stubborn. All I want is someone to hug me sometimes. 3. Music. Listening to it, reading about it and playing it. Music is very important to me, it's something that without, I just can't get comfortable or be myself.I also like Pinball, but it's a really expensive hobby/habit to keep up. 4. Yeah, tattoos are great. I don't have one but I will, someday. Something like this to cover up all the scars on my left arm: 5. New York- cliche, I know but it's one of those 'once in a lifetime' things.

Q- Winter or Summer? A- Just came back from a nice stroll under a bright blue sky. The smell of summer flowers and the neighbor's barbecue. Buzzing of insects, distant laughter of children and the warm wind in the trees. Summer.
Q- One thing you wish you could do but for one reason or another can't? A- I always wanted to try bungee jumping and/or parachuting. But it seems that my lack of muscle tension, especially in the back and neck, rules those out.
Q- What are your hobbies? A- I love to travel and see new places. Also, I'm very much into discussing all kinds of things with all kinds of people. Be it deeply philosophical or random fun. And I enjoy cooking. Can't do it myself but I give very precise instructions to my PCAs.
Q- Tattoos yes or no? A- I don't have any. Don't have a conclusive opinion on them but definitely prefer quality over quantity.
Q- Where are you from and where would you like to visit? A- I'm from Germany. I also have a long list of places I'd like to visit, despite having seen quite a bit of the world already. Currently considering Uganda as an upcoming destination.

Welcome back.
Q- Winter or Summer? A- If I have to choose those two, I'll say winter but not by a wide margin. Yeah, snow sucks but there's something about a blizzard that is just exciting. Plus, I don't deal well with the heat.
Q- One thing you wish you could do but for one reason or another can't? A- As a quad, that's a really long answer but I'll go with cooking.
Q- What are your hobbies? A- I am definitely an outdoors guy so fishing, hunting, hiking, exploring. But I also live downtown in a city so going out, seeing live music, drinking with friends, hosting dinner parties. Anything with good company.
Q- Tattoos yes or no? A- Yup. Only one so far but have plans for a few more. I also find them irresistibly sexy on women.
Q- Where are you from and where would you like to visit? A- From Boston but grew up in Wisconsin. I'm not much of a traveler but I'd like to see historic Europe before I kick the bucket.

Q- Winter or summer? A- I would definitely rather live in an eternal summer than in a nerver-ending winter. But I like all the seasons.
Q- One thing you wish you could do but for one reason or another can't? A- Sewing/knitting/or somehow making clothes for my children and myself. But I am too impatient for it.
Q- What are your hobbies? A- As a working mom I don't have that much spare time. I do pilates and yoga. I am a series junky. I like going to bars and restaurants or music concerts.
Q- Tattoos yes or no? A- No. My bf went to a tattoo studio wehn we had just turned 18. He was in so much pain that he didn't have his tattoo finished and has a half-made Chinese sign on his calf since. That kind of scared me off.
Q- Where are you from and where would you like to visit? A- I was born in West Berlin, British sector. This place does not exist anymore, since the fall of the wall. I still live in Berlin and am amazed of what the city has become. I would like to visit Canada and the Middle East as I have never been there.

Chicago World's Fair items 1893, 1933 or both? My maternal grandfather graduated from high school in 1933 and shortly thereafter, he and his best friend hitchhiked from their(and my) hometown of Quincy, IL, to the World's Fair in Chicago. They had practically no money but evidently had themselves a great adventure. So I love reading about the Fair and imagining all of the things that they saw and did during their visit. Fascinating!

That's a cool story! It was a very different era and I feel like we missed out on huge, epic events like that. The internet and quick access to nearly whatever information or experience you desire takes away the excitement of discovery. Furthermore...just kidding Right now I only collect tickets to the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. I'm looking into getting some of the souvenirs that they sold as well. Admittedly, my interest arose after reading Devil in the White City. The descriptions of the Expo were so detailed that I was immediately enthralled by it. I was already into old "things," so it was a natural fit! Have you read that book?

Yes, this is an 'older' post, but I'm trying to challenge myself to do *something* here, every day or three. So that means reading back a page or two and finding things that appeal. Q- Winter or Summer? A- Either. I just hate spring (season of eternal mud) and fall (period of the earth's metaphorical death scene before being buried in snow). Winter is hot beverages, warm afghans, crocheting, and baking. Summer is floating in a tube at the lake, biking, hiking, and camping. And snakes. Wait, SNAKES. Okay, Winter wins, hands down! Q- One thing you wish you could do but for one reason or another can't? A- Juggle. My brother can. I cannot. (Insert severe jealously here.) Q- What are your hobbies? A- Various and sundry. Q- Tattoos yes or no? A- No. Likely, it's partially the effects of an extremely religious upbringing, but it's also partially a mom thing. I spent copious amounts of time trailing behind children, cleaning the catastrophic mess that is their wake. Their goal is to destroy and/or cover every surface with STUFF. So to me, tatts are just more clutter. I'm VERY about clear spaces, at this point in my life. It's okay... you can smirk. My answer truly is pitiable. Q- Where are you from and where would you like to visit? A- I grew up military, but my family retired midwest. And the past few years, I've been dragging my family on adventures to see everything there is to see in different parts of various states. Looking at possibly doing Western Ohio or Central Wisconsin, next year. People always say, "Indiana! What's in Indiana?!?!" Or "Illinois! All they have is cornfields!" But it's amazing how stunning the 'boring' states are. You just have to look for the hidden treasures in them. Besides, most of us can't afford to jet off to see the Pyramids in Egypt or the Eiffel tower in Paris. But we can go to the places nearer to us, right? Thanks for the song, SimplyScott. Now I'll be singing the 'King and I' all day.
