Hi all. Its been a long time since I posted here, so I will post again, so here it goes again. My name is Jay, I am a gay, white-Hispanic male in a wheelchair here in New York City who is approaching 30 years old, and I am looking for a gay dev or wheeler here in the Tri-State area who is near my age. I have posted on this board earlier, and nothing. I have posted on other dating sites, and nothing but insults regarding either me being overweight or me being disabled. I meet people in person here in the city and either I am shot down, stood up on a date, or horribly insulted on the first date. If I do find people, they are either really creepy devs that are usually elderly, or I find myself in an abusive relationship. I am almost resigned to the fact that this gay wheeler is going to live and die alone. As Valentine's Day approaches, prove me wrong! There has to be normal, gay devs or wheelers near my age here in the NY Metro Area. By sheer odds there just has to be. Don't be afraid, just message me.

Might have more luck with being on the forum for more than a date. Interact with the dev guys for awhile and get to know people.

Not gay nor single but I am in NYC and happy to mutually complain about cold weather and inaccessible public transportation

Honestly. No gay devs near NYC? I find that hard to believe! Come on guys, show yourselves! Usually the hardest part for a dev is to find a wheeler that is willing to talk to a dev. Usually most devs are afraid to approach us because they feel that chair guys will reject them. Well guys, here I am! A chair guy openly stating that he wants to meet a dev! What are you waiting for? I am practically serving myself up on a silver platter for you guys. Jeez!

Hi gwl, I think what Bluesky meant was get involved in the forums, let gay devs like myself get to know you a little and see where it goes. In my experience just putting it on a silver platter isn't going to do it even in the gay world, nor is the fact that you use a wheelchair enough in itself to attract most devs, there has to be an attraction or interest before the chair comes into it and for that we need to get to know you.
I've been looking at your posts to get a feel for who you are. You started posting here as a dev, then as a BIID guy and now as a wheeler. Have you achieved your BIID dream? I ask because again, in my experience, most devs are attracted to the actual disability not merely the use of a chair. If you have acquired the disability you desire tell us about it. Sure there are people who won't understand but there are others who will. If not, maybe you would have more luck finding someone on a forum specifically for BIID/pretender/wannabe guys.
Just my thoughts. I wish you luck and happiness in your future.

Thanks Emma, I dip in and out of the forums, but enjoy taking part in the conversations. Also, knowing there are like minded guys and girls, as well as PWD guys who accept us, supports me in the ups and downs of my devness. And who knows, I might one day meet the wheeler of my dreams here.
