Hi I'm a straight lak amputee from Cape Town with osseointegration. I was fascinated to find out about amputee devotees, so here I am to find out more and hopefully make some new friends. Could this lead to something? Testing testing!

leglet, welcome, hope you will enjoy it here! May I ask, how and when did you find out about "magical world" of devotees? Have you had any experience with one?

Welcome. I know its early on with us but always wondered if the osseointegration type prosthetics hurt. It LOOKS painful. I think we have a couple members in South Africa. Not sure how active they are right now.

Hi I've only been an amputee for over 3 years, but soon after my accident I started to get an inflow of Facebook friend requests and then finally learnt about the dev community. I haven't had a real life encounter with a dev yet. Only engaging on fb for starters

Not sure how active they are right now. Hi thank you. The actual operation was very painful for about 3 days. Thereafter it takes a while for the implant rod to osseointegrate with the femur. Weight baring was painful for about 6 months but now all great. This pic gives you an idea of the early stage Attachment Deleted

Welcome leglet! It was about time an amp showed up, I was starting to think they were extinct on PD... I'm curious about you saying that you were contacted by devs on fb: was it weird? Did you find it rude, or upsetting, or just plain flattering? I'm asking because to me even as a dev would never ever occur to actually contact a stranger pwd on fb, and my default reaction when a stranger contacts me is to block them. I hope you stick around!

Hi thank you. I was actually flattered and was soon informed that their devnous is as normal as my preference for nicely formed boobs for instance
