Here is a poem, from a series of six poems I return to once in a while. It’s written by Susannah Nevison as a poem letter to Molly Mccully Brown. They both have cerebral palsy and these letters are about what it has meant to be surgically altered and having a body with almost dead things on it. ——————————————————- Dear M —What we leave down in the canyon — the stain of us — red on red, hemoglobin on hematite, the trace of us the one true map we’ll ever leave. Hidden out of sight, a place only forgotten animals tread, we’re pinned to rock in outline and sketch, the idea of us a puzzle no one’s yet seen or read. Unclasped by bodies and their weight, we start again, we take another shape, we learn our worth by learning what we’re not, like new animals or children who, finding themselves wingless, still test the air and fall. - Susannah Nevison Here’s a link to the full piece: www.nytimes.com/2018/09/26/opinion/poetry-disability-altered-bodies.html

Does this chair make my ass look big ? Well I guess if your ass fits comfortably and contours nicely in your chair, then you have nothing to worry about.

"I'd rather die on my feet, than live on my knees."
Emiliano Zapata
That's a powerful quote.

Never trust a man in a wheelchair with dirty shoes. Such a true quote. I've worn the same shoes for like 5 years and they still look pristine on the outside. I mean they're sort of old man shoes/slippers but hey! They're super comfy.

I thought this would be cool to share on Valentine's Day...
Love Yourself...
enough to take the actions required for your happiness...
enough to cut yourself loose from the drama-filled past...
enough to set a high standard for relationships...
enough to feed your mind and body in a healthy manner...
enough to forgive yourself...enough to move on.

Just recently this quote has come into my head a few times lately, it’s by Alexander Graham Bell the Scottish Inventor who patented the first telephone:
“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us”
