"For the self-assured to expose their vulnerability; to an extent, is just a case of unearthing something that was already there. Buried deep? Sure. Like searching through a messy attic. Go the other way though, to get someone who’s meek or anxious by nature to feel confident? That involves altering their entire mental makeup. Fuck the attic, it’s more like burning the whole house down and rebuilding from the ground up."

Pardon the language, if that has to be flagged or removed I understand, and will know better next time...

This is a fun one:
There are two kinds of people. Ones who can draw conclusions from the information given.

bluesky101, that's of my own creation. My head tends to come up with strange thoughts in the middle of the night, this one I happened to write down.

The following is a poem written by an Irish Poet, Kathleen O' Meara in 1869 - after a plague devastated Ireland in the late 1860's. It is appropriate for today with COVID-19... ***Edit: This is a modern day poem written by Kitty O'Meara, 2020 - hoping that's the right credit. And people stayed home and read books and listened and rested and exercised and made art and played and learned new ways of being and were still and listened more deeply someone meditated someone prayed someone danced someone met their own shadow and people started thinking differently... And people healed... And in the absence of people who lived in ignorant ways dangerous, mindless, and heartless... The earth began to heal... And when the danger ended and people found themselves... They grieved for the dead and they made new choices and dreamed new visions and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully just as they had been healed.

I put an end to a discussion with a friend, who is an antivaxxer, with the following Asimov quote
Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'
The full quote is a little more anti-American
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.
