Just curious how many members know Sculptor Mark di Suvero and his work? I thought I did until today. I knew his work from my visits to the National Gallery in DC, and I knew he created the High Line in NYC. Today I found the rest of his story... It seem as a young man in addition to his sculpture he worked as a laborer in construction. One day he incurred an accident that left him paralyzed and required he use crutches and or a chair for mobility. This accident required he reconsider the methods he used to create his works which are made of steel. This lead to him using a crane in order to conduct the design and build of his works.
in addition to being a world class artist he also looks very good as an 83 yr old man. I am sure he has no lack of attention from women, or men if that is his disposition. Just curious to see how or if he might push a few devotee buttons. Thoughts anyone? The only famous disabled artist I was aware to until today was Chuck Close. So add one more.
